A bit of folklore

A bit of folklore
I went for a Summer promenade at Katarina on Södermalm. More photos to come, but we start with this church bell that can be found outside the Katarina church. Victims from the Stockholm Bloodbath in 1520 were burned here by Kristian Tyrann and it has been said that the place have been cursed because of that. The church, built in 1695 have been destroyed twice through fires, just like it was predicted in an old fairy tale. The last fire took place in 1990 when the tower collapsed completely. It took five years to rebuild the church.
