The Friendly yclist

Friendly Cyclist
I had just jumped off the bike and was slowly walking along a field near Aspen Hill in Österhaninge when I noticed a cyclist climbing up Österhaningevägen at Husby so I quickly changed the camera settings to one that works for panning photos and had time to shoot four photos of this happy cyclist.

In Hiding

In Hiding
This hedgehog is a frequent visitor at my veranda. Usually after dark when it can enjoy some cat food without being interrupted. It must have been hungry today as I heard it just after dinner. So I put out some food under the table as pigge decided to hide behind the broom until the coast was clear.

A rural setting

The Road Not Taken A rural setting
Summer at Ormsta. A favorite place of mine. This is where the road ends. Unless you are on foot or riding a bike like I usually am. And when people ask, where have you been today, and I answer Ormsta no one seems to know where that is.

Macro Mania

Troubleshooting Smultron Butterfly Green Troubleshooting II
Five photos from the back garden. Shot with the Canon 60mm macro. The lens normally works great for both close-ups, landscapes, and portraits. It's acting up a bit at the moment, and for some reason, I can only shoot macro photos, the lens refuses to let me focus on more distant objects. But as long as I can take snaps like these I'm happy.

View From A Bridge

View From A Bridge
Back at the Slätmossen nature park in Handen for another photo from the wooden bridge at the pond. I had a feeling it would be very green after the recent rain and I guess I was right.

A man and a woman

Sweatband City Centre Shopper
Two recent candid snaps. The guy in the top photo is a local musician, as well as a new dad, and possibly a fan of Björn Borg. I have seen his band perform once or twice. Snapped that photo while at the cafe. I don't know the woman in the second photo but I found her photogenic in that orange top. I snapped that one outside the cultural centre at Poseidon's square.

The highrise at Marieberg was designed by Paul Hedqvist back in the early 1960s. It was the headquarters for the newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Expressen for a couple of decades. At 84 meters high it was the tallest building in the country for quite a few years. If you look closely you can see the famous spiral staircase. Today it is used as an office building.

The "accordion" building at Marieberg, Kungsholmen in Stockholm. Designed by Henning Orlando back in the 1960s. The then Prime Minister Tage Erlander lived here when the building was new. I took this photo from the beach at Långholmen.

Virus, what virus?

Virus, what virus? Red Bikini If you've got it, flaunt it Coffee Break Sitting in the shadow Wanna go for a swim? Life's a beach Långholmens Strandbad
This was the scene at Långholmsbadet on Saturday afternoon. It was the warmest day of the year. The beach was packed to capacity. No one seemed to worry much about the Coronavirus. I walked over to the kiosk, got some coffee, sat down at a table. I enjoyed my coffee while simultaneously looking at all the people, and taking the odd, (or quite a few), photos of the sunbathers.

Summer Reading Långholmens Klippbad The hottest day of the year Blekfisar A bottle of bubbly
My walk around Långholmen on Saturday afternoon followed the water as much as possible. There are cliffs and grassy areas everywhere, and I have never seen so many people here before. Everywhere you looked people were sunbathing, swimming, chatting away, or picnicking. More people photos to come tomorrow.

Stockholm in June

Riddarfjärden Stockholm Norra Tornen Stadshuset Mälarpaviljongen M/S Lux
It was the warmest day of the year, so far. Closing in on 30C as I started the 4 km walk around Långholmen on Saturday afternoon. Långholmen is an island in Stockholm. A former prison island with an interesting history. I was there with a friend to look at the busy street life, or should I perhaps say the beach life. More of that to come. First, here are some of the views you get towards the central part of Stockholm from the island. You can see City Hall, Stadshuset. The two new towers, called Norra Tornen. The Mälar Pavillion. Kungholmen with Norr Mälarstrand. The Ekery ferry, and more. All classic Stockholm views.

Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto
One of my friends sublets a house on his property. Police were there with a couple of cars on Saturday. Pretty sure my friend's "houseguest" will be goon soon. Sad story really. I don't have all the facts but it looks like "his" Audi belonged to someone else. When we arrived the police had stopped another man who was driving away with the Audi hidden on a trailer, no idea how the police managed to be there just when that happened, so we speculated about that for a while as we were preparing the BBQ. My buddy had a long chat with the female officer before they searched the property. Twenty minutes after the police had left, the houseguest arrived home looking very worried and my buddy had a longish chat with him.

Poseidons torg

Walking down the street Stokke® A few minutes later Stokke® Walking into the shot Summer Dress
The best place for shooting candid portraits in Haninge would be the square Poseidons torg in Handen. I snapped these photos sitting at a table outside the cultural center. I gave my card to the woman in the first photo. The boy with the blue hair noticed me a few minutes earlier when I took another street portrait of him going the other way.

Perfection is a Moving Target

Perfection is a Moving Target
By Ilja Karilampi. The trick is to stand in front of the artwork and take a selfie with the flash activated, something I obviously didn't do. Art exhibition at Haninge Kulturhus.

Lidl Outfit

Lidl Outfit
Made by Vida Lavén, poet and artist born 1991. The current art exhibition at Haninge Kulturhus. I have to confess to never do any shopping at that particular discount chain.

Meanwhile in the Piazza

Meanwhile in the Piazza Mother&Child Woman with a cell phone earpiece
Three photos of Poseidon's square in Handen that I took while sitting on the stairs to the cultural center. The top photo gave me a Mediterranean vibe.
