My last couple of photos from this years Easy Rider festival at Vegabaren. Two guys on their choppers, deciding it is time to ride home.

Dead Man's Curve

My second post from The Easy Rider festival, held every year at the famous Vegabaren in Handen. This was a cool Bike. A Boss Hoss. Just like the bike I showed you yesterday it is a bit on the expensive side. I took the first photo with my old Canon and the other two with the full frame camera. Oh, and there is a road with several dead man's curves not far from here along Slingerbulten in Tungelsta.

Boss Hoss

I visited the annual motorcycle meet at Vegabaren in Handen today. The Easy Rider Festival. Summer had returned and it was warm and sunny. Unfortunately the meet collided with the big Mälaren Runt motorcycle race which attracts around 25 000 riders, so Vegabaren wasn't too crowded this time around. This is a Boss Hoss bike. It will set you back nearly a million SEK.

Hell of a bike

This was probably the most photographed motorcycle at the Easy Rider Festival. A blue Honda Gold Wing. I gave up counting the chrome skulls after a first look. The blue camper was a bit special. It was called Hell 666. Bit of a bummer me thinks as the real number to the Devil is 616 if you feel like giving him a call. The nerd sneaking up behind me on the fourth photo is my friend Jim.

Rock'n Roll Heaven

Rock'n Roll Heaven will hopefully open in Stockholm in a not too distant future. It will be a theme restaurant with live music and a museum. This bike will be there. I met one of the guys behind the project during the Easy Rider Festival. As you can probably guess they will focus on Elvis Presley and music from that era. As I'm typing this the Swedish artist Brolle is using the bike in the recording of a new music video. The motorcycle is equipped with lots of fun details like two guitars, a drum set, a piano (although you can't play it) and a couple of microphones. It is also signed by Reggie Young from the TCB Band.

Masen

One or two cool mopeds at this years Easy Rider festival at Vegabaren. It rained on and off but I stayed around for a couple of hours looking at all sorts of unusual motorcycles and mopeds. This moped is called Masen. That tells me that the guy who built it is a man from Dalarna.

Easy Rider Festival

The Easy Rider Festival is always a fun event for photographers. It took place at Vegabaren last Saturday, it rained a bit which scared away a few bikers. Top photo shows Benke, a guy that you have met here before, on his Holle Racer. Benke runs a company that sells Bicycle Engine Kits. Second snap shows a real beauty. A vintage Husqvarna motorcycle.

She's Got Legs

It's just after midnight. I'm hoping to visit the big meet at Vegabaren twelve hours from now. it's the annual "raggarträff". Greaser girls, rockabilly, 1950s American cars and much more. This is Tina, I spotted her legs last Saturday at the bike meet also at Vegabaren. She was very surprised when I asked her for a photo, but I like the result. Hopefully I will be able to shoot many similar scenes later today, but I have been in bed with for 48 hours with flu like symptoms so fingers crossed.

Black Leather

...and jeans. For a few hours on Saturday bikers from all over Stockholm arrived to the Easy Rider festival in Handen.

Dolph, Sly and Jason

This bike stood out a bit at the Easy Rider festival. HD Bad Girl. Airbrushed by Wickedpaint. An artist from Uppsala who does a lot of work in this style. The faces seen here are Dolph Lundgren (local boy), Sly Stallone and Jason Statham, all from the movie The Expendables. I shot this with the nifty fifty to get that shallow depth of field, so this is four photos stitched together. To see a much larger version of the first photo press here.

The Biker Babe

Arriving to the Easy Rider festival at Vegabaren in Handen yesterday I knew beforehand that I would see a lot of gray-haired bikers. Nothing wrong with that of course, but I also wanted something different. Something a bit more colorful, so when I spotted Carina talking to a few friends I walked over and asked her for a portrait. She was a bit surprised that I wanted to shoot her so I had to put on the Steffe charm, and it must have worked because a minute later she had walked me over to where her Harley Softail Deuce 01 was parked. Carina is not a member of any club, but she is often out riding the roads, sometimes with friends but often on her own. I just grab a map, look for a nice road and then head off she told me.

A Dude Arrives

This years Easy Rider Festival was a bit of a disappointment. I had hoped to see more interesting, and unusual motorcycles. But I did spot a few cool characters and this is one of them.

Object of Desire

This Harley Davidson was white when it rolled out of the Harley Davidson Motor Company factory in Milwaukee back in 1948. Sixty four years later it has a new look. I had the intention of finding an object of desire at the recent Easy Rider Festival in Handen for a Utata project. I noticed this bike a few kilometres from where the festival was held. A small group of bikers were standing around it. A little later I saw the owner arriving on the Harley, and so did everyone else at the festival. The owner had entered the bike into one of the best in show contests so I asked him if he could give me a few minutes to take some photos before he added the contest sign on the bike.

Engines & Black Leather

There were many different types of bikes the Easy Rider festival. Lots of Harley's, but also many Japanese bikes and a few unique rides. I saw several vintage mopeds, and a few old military motorcycles. In the slideshow you will see three years of photos from this annual event.

The Biker

I had to shoot at least one biker portrait at the Easy Rider Festival. This is Ulf, he lives at Närtuna but will move to Heby in a few weeks time. He drove to the meet on his Rocket III. He was used to having his photo taken. Ulf was interviewed and filmed for a new bike show at another meet earlier this summer. I noticed a cool detail on his bike. The Chinese dragon. He found it in China and knew that he had to buy it.

The Priest

This is Carl Henrik Widlund. A priest from the Österhaninge Parish. I met him at the Easy Rider Festival in Handen on Saturday where he was looking at all the bikes. He also gave me a copy of a bible with a difference. The Engine Bible. It's the New Testament plus a number of interviews with religious race drivers and what have you. He was also at last weeks car meet and handed out many copies of the same book. I asked if he knew Sara the Priestess, which he told me that he did.

Easy Rider Festival

I visited the annual Easy Rider Festival in Handen last weekend. A few hundred bikers gathered at Vegabaren for a few hours of fun. There was a few titles at stake, like Best Ratbike where this bike, the Superlative Conspiracy was my favorite. This event attracts all sorts of people. Bike enthusiasts that build their own unique bikes. Harley riders, photographers, families, and I did also notice a few members from The Hells Angels. More photos in the coming days.
