Hockneyesque
Back at Stabergs Road in Nedersta. I often stop here and take photos. This is my third composite shot from here. Up ahead to the right there's a old farm called Nödesta. it has been there for 700 years. A few sheeps live at the red barn ( i have made a video with one of them before). Continue the road and you will pass a power station and a few homes and then you're on the long straight known as Nederstaleden. That will take you to Västerhaninge.

Uphill Road
As a cyclist I don't really like long and steep uphill climbs but it does make for a good photo. This is Dalarövägen in Haninge. Turn right on the other side of that hill and you will be heading for Österhaninge. If not, you will find end up at Gålö or Dalarö.
See where this picture was taken. [?]

Choo Choo!
There's a railway museum in Nynäshamn. A few times every year they arrange a couple of trips with their steam train. The ride goes to Stockholm and then back to Nynäshamn. Today the train had a few problems In Nynäshamn and was late. I waited at the Krigslida station with a couple of photographers. Luckily the weather was great. The train didnt stop at the station so we had to be quick. I managed to take a few shots and two short video clips. www.vimeo.com/clip:99024

Building Site 360
The second phase of the Kryddgården building site started this week. Some info (in Swedish) here if you are house hunting. Or have a look at my photos from this building site. This looks best at the original size( 12044 x 2000 pixels). The 360 panorama took 14 photos.

Pigeon up a tree
I was out walking at Bergdalen with the zoom lens, trying to get some shots of a woodpecker that I could hear. I did get a few photos (not that good), but then noticed this pigeon (we call it a duva btw) high up in a dead tree on the hill, so I started taking photof of the pigeon instead. This was the best one.

Yet another visit to the beach
After the rain on Monday the sun was back in the sky on Tuesday. So I took a short ride to the beach for some photos. This is five photos that I stitched with the free software Autostitch. A great little software. Lets say that you are planning a landscape photo, but can't get the whole scene in one shot. Here's what to do. Just turn the camera to the portrait mode, and take two or three photos. Then open Autostitch and the program will stitch the new photo seamless! I do that on a daily basis. Sometimes I crop them to a "normal photo" and no one can tell!

It's getting darker...
Rain and thunderstorms all day yesterday. The rain stopped just before I took this photo. Shot from a window on the second floor at Bergdalen in Tungelsta. Took this just after 8 pm and realised that summer is on it's way out. Just one month ago I could sit on the bench outside reading a book in full daylight. There's 20 000 poinsettias in that greenhouse now. Next week there will be another 8 000. Find more Haninge photos here.

Last day of summer
That could be what the boys in the canoe thinks. They will probably be back in school tomorrow. Or not. Anyway, this a summer shot from one of the two akes at Rudan. This is the view you get from the commuter train at the Handen station. Just up ahead there's a bridge that leads over the railway down to a small beach. I counted two people on that beach.

Benny The Boxer Mosaic
It was another warm day yesterday. Took a few Benny shots. Benny belongs to my neighbours, and I take lots of photos of him (and some of the neighbours as well). I had a computer crash last week. Now,the new computer is up and running. I have installed a few mosaic programs. It took a few hours for those programs to go through my Canon Library (15 000 photos). But here is the first mosaic made on the new computer.

Vegabaren (great burgers)
The first of it's kind in Sweden. In Handen at Nynäsvägen 8. Opened back in 1958. Also the first Hamburger place (1968). I used to come here a few nights every week starting in 1981. We always stopped here on our way back home from a club in Stockholm. All the cab drivers knew where we were going so they would wake us up when we where there! These days I don't eat here that often.

Baked cod fillet for dinner...
And Tindra enjoyed every bit she got. Tindra who belongs to my neighbours, decided to have her kitten under my veranda a few years ago. So she now has two homes.
We named her kitten Hindenburg. It was my brothers idea, he thought the kitten looked like the goodyear blimp! Hindenburg stayed with us for a few months and then moved to his new home a few km from here.

Let's hit the water!
A visit to Lake Rudan. A Popular recreational area in Handen. Two lakes. A big forest with long paths for everyone to use. And much more. On this visit the sun was shining and the temperature was 22 C. A few people sitting on the cliffs. A few swimmers and fishers. And lots of birds. And I found this little pier where I sat for a while, relaxing and taking photos.

Coffee and a muffin
It's the middle of August. Rainy morning in Tungelsta this Monday. The summer has been hot and warm. One of my favorite bike rides this year has been down to Årsta Havsbad (great beach). There's a kiosk down at the small port. I always buy lunch (or coffee and a muffin) there and then I will sit down and relax and watch the ferry arriving and/or departing. Most passengers this time of the year are tourists and you will hear a few different languages.

Don't swim out too far, OK?
A visit to the bird park. Lots of mallards here. Found this little family in a pond close to one of the wooden bridges. It's a nature park, called Slätmossen, in Handen. I often stop by here for a walk with the camera. Very relaxing. And sometimes you get a few good shots, like this one.

That Old Tree
I filmed the bike ride up to the old oak this time. Bike ride can be seen here. My computer is dead so I used my mothers when I edited the clips. Sorry about the crappy quality, not sure why, made with windows movie maker on my mothers computer. Anyway it was 25 Ctoday so it was a sweaty ride. I met a few people on the way. And a tractor! And a car wreck that I took a photo of a couple of weeks ago was still there. Maybe I should send the video to the Haninge tourist board!

Waxholm II The Arrival (+vimeolink)
I shot a video of the Waxholm II departing the port at Årsta Brygga the other week. Here's the ferry after just arriving to the same port. I made a video where you can hear a very upset gull screaming...

Snorkeling
My neighbour Ingemar enjoyes snorkeling. Here he is at Aspnäs outside Nynäshamn ready to hit the water. The guys in the background are Kristoffer and Lukas (modified speling) trying there fish luck. Aspnäs is a well known place for fishing which is a very popular sport in Sweden, as is snorkeling.
And did they have any luck? Yes they did get a few small yellow perches.

Vapor Trail
About one year ago I started taking a lot of sky shots. Like this one. This is Nynäs Road. The old road. These days only used by a few locals and people out on bike rides (me). I remember seeing the plane and jumping off the bike to set up the shot. The new road, Road 73 is to the right and is the most dangerous in the country. To the left runs the oldest road, from the Viking area. It's a gravel road and goes through a rural area with a few farms, horse pastures and ends one km from here at a small wooden red house where a local painter/writer lives.

Wool Producer on the run
I'm on the run from the shearer!
This sheep is on the run from the Nedersta Farm. It figured, why not pose for the photographer and then go back to eating grass. After this photo op I headed once again for the beach. On my way home I had another animal meeting. I made a short video of a few scenes from today.

Christmas already?
It's that time of the year again, a very famous member of the spurge family of plants arrives to Blomorado in Tungelsta. I always start to think about winter, and snow, and freezing temperatures when this happens. Only three days in to August...
So to conclude, some 20 000 poinsettias (Euphorbia pulcherrima )are now being unpacked. And don't worry, they are NOT poisonous that's just a myth. If you wanna see some cool poinsettia photos follow this link.

Some fish have all the luck...
No fish luck today for Ivan Westberg, a member of Lilla Fiskelyckan's fishing club at this visit to Lake Rudan in Handen, Haninge. Too warm in the water he said.

On my bike ride today... (on Vimeo)
My first bike video. A few short clips from a ride on a gravel road in a rural part of Haninge. Not very exciting but you can't have everything! Filmed with one hand going downhill but I made it home safe! There's a few hundred photos in my flickr stream from this area. Look for Österhaninge and Art Promenade and you will get a better view of the place.
This is a video clip. You can watch it on Vimeo.
