The good life

The good life
That was the theme for the Haninge Day this year. Here is a collage and a slideshow with all the photos I took at the event. Top left photo in the collage shows Freja, the winner of the Funkisfestivalen performing on the big stage. The guy with the canon strap is Micke Klein out strolling with his son, you have seen him in action here with his band a couple of times. The guitarist in the second row is Micke Vinsa he was playing with Freja here. The two girls in the bottom row are Bella &Cornelia from my favorite cafe, Malmens konditori. You can spot their boss Natalia in the third row. The dancing girls represent Haninge Dansstudio. The cheerleaders walking down the stairs are from Haninge Cheer Elite. And if you can't see the slideshow press here to go to my flickr album.

Elvis Tribute & Slideshow

Anders Karlstedt
My last post from this years Grand Prix Raggarbil event. This was the eleventh year in a row that I attended the big meet, held for the first time this year at Lissma park in Huddinge. Always a lot of fun of course with all the different type of cars and many interesting people, including Anders Karlstedt who has his own Elvis Tribute show. I have uploaded 182 photos from the greaser meet and if you can't see the slideshow here follow this link to my flickr album.

Park Animals

A Popular Bench
I visited the official unveiling of a new sculpture group, Parkdjur,(Park Animals), at Åbyparken in Västerhaninge yesterday afternoon. It is one of the oldest parks here, it dates back to the 1950s when most of the land here was just a big forest. Fifteen sculptures can be seen and admired in the park, and they are all very good. Made by Anna Lindgren and Sofia Lagerkvist from the design group Front. They wanted the park to be filled once again by the animals that could be seen here before the park was built. The design group wants people to stop and relax in the park, instead of just walking through it. They hope that kids that sees the sculptures will want to stop there and play. If you are having problems seeing the photos in the slideshow press here to open the album at Flickr, it is well worth watching.

Tbgstance Summer Intervention 2018

Apple Computer Inc.
The little beach at the Upper Lake at the Rudan nature reserve in Handen was a bit more crowded that usual today. The sweaty sunbathers had to compete with a lot of shiny cars that were parked on the grass. At least 27C today and I really felt the heat during my our long photowalk around the car meet Tbgstance Summer Intervention 2018.

VELOTHON Stockholm 2017

VELOTHON Stockholm
My last post of this years Velothon Stockholm bicycle race. A collage and a slideshow. In it you can spot the photographer that came home with nearly 4000 photos. To see the photos at flickr press here. It was a good day for cycling, great weather and many happy riders out on the roads. I met one woman at the FikAnn cafe who after the race rode back on her bike to the cafe, (an extra 20km),for a well deserved rest and a bite to eat.

That Driving Beat

That Driving Beat
That Driving Beat on stage at Poseidon's Square in Handen during the Haninge Day celebrations on Saturday. Great performance as usual. They play Northern Soul. It was a busy day for the band, after this gig they packed up their instruments and made their way to another concert, that one at Hasselbacken in Stockholm at the Rockers vs. Mods meet-up. Enjoy the slideshow. If you can's see the photos check out my flickr album with the band. Spotify. Facebook.

Grand Prix Raggarbil 2017

Finnish Burnout It took me a few days to go through the photos I took at the big greaser meet, Grand Prix Raggarbil, (it means Greaser car). I have uploaded around 200 of them now. All shot with the Canon 6D using two of my new Chinese lenses, mostly the 100mm. So enjoy the slideshow. And as per usual, if you can't see the photos Press Here to see them at flickr.

Muscle Car Meet

Plymouth Satellite
There was a muscle car meet in Jordbro over the weekend. Lots of cool cars from the late 1960s and the early 1970s to photograph, and just to challenge myself I decided only to use one of my new Yongnuo lenses, the 100mm lens. I stayed for a couple of hours and the cars just kept coming. If you can't see the album follow this link to flickr.

Asphalt Paver

Asphalt Paver
I can't remember how much work has been done do the commuter station in Tungelsta over the last decade, but it is a lot. And I have been trying my best to document that and other rail-road-related work in a photo album called Nynäsbanan, which is the name of the railway line between Stockholm and Nynäshamn. But it now looks like they are finishing up here. Took this photo a few days ago when the workers were busy paving the road in front of the station, and also fixing a new parking area. So if you enjoy construction photos have a look at the Nynäsbanan slideshow.

Muscle Car Meet

1973 Charger
You need a bit of luck sometimes. I was on my way home from the motorcycle meet a few days ago, when I noticed a few cars parked on both sides on the road at the Jordbro industrial area. Normally there's never anything parked there so I decided to check it out, and I'm glad I did. Turned out to be a muscle car meet at the Shell station. Only announced via Facebook to the people interested in partaking. Around 100 muscle cars had filled up the station and people of all ages were looking, discussing, photographing or just sitting around taking it all in. Enjoy the slideshow.

Hey Look!

Look! Peace
I took a few candid photos during the rock festival "Trädgårdsrocken", on Saturday, although I was spotted on a few occasions like you can see here when both Janne Jogenstedt and Victor St. Ekvall notices me. It was a fun day. Lots of new bands to listen to, and a few I had seen and heard before. I missed a few of them as I had to leave the park a few times during the day. If you have a minute feel free to look through the slideshow with all the photos from the festival, rock on!

The Engine Guy

The Engine Guy
Met a cool biker guy yesterday. I was standing in the green by the side of the bike path near the Slätmossen nature park in Handen shooting butterflies and other insects when I heard an engine closing in. It was a guy on a vintage motorized tandem bicycle! Not something you see every day so I waved him down for a chat and a few snaps that you can see in the slideshow. This is Tommy. From Västerhaninge. The tandem bicycle was a King from 1946. The engine a Victoria from 1952. The bike had a few interesting details and most of it was original. Tommy told me that vintage engines is his big hobby and he is currently working on another old bike. He also owns a vintage Harley Davidson and a Ford Model A from 1929. Tommy informed me that he visits the annual car meet at the nearby Vegabaren so it is possible that I have a photo of that Ford somewhere in my flickr stream. This is my eight portrait for the Human Family.

Redesigned & Soon Gone

Water Tower
One of the two redesigned water towers at the industrial area in Handen. I try to shoot them from all possible angles when I'm in the area so feel free to look through the slideshow. The building in front of the tower is part of the "Fredrik" secondary school. It will be gone soon as a new modern school has been built across the road from here. The industrial area is situated in central Handen and I think it's days are numbered as the politicians would like to see apartments here in the future especially when the new Albyberg industrial area a few kilometres from here is ready.

A game of football

Ibbe scores!
I stopped at Torvalla Sportcenter in Handen today and watched a bit of the football match between Västerhaninge IF and Qaran IFK. In the end Västerhaninge, (the home team), won the match 1-0 after a header from Ibbe on a corner kick. That is him in the top photo scoring that goal. A few more photos from the game in the slideshow. VIF plays in Division 4, the season is yet to start so this was a preseason game.

Along the railway-track

The Commuter
I took a walk on what will soon be the new rail-track between Tungelsta and Hemfosa along the Nynäsbanan yesterday. It's the century old railway line between Stockholm ant the port city Nynäshamn. This is between two old railroad X-ings that soon will close, just south of the Tungelsta station. The overhead lines to the left weren't here on my last photo walk so the construction is going forward every day. Oh, and if you are interested in these types of snaps feel free to have a look in my photo set about work on the Nynäsbanan over the last few years.
