For the third Winter in a row the Haninge municipality have decided to keep some walkways/bike paths snow and ice free. So I followed the ice free path here.
Swedish sentence of the day, and this is an important one. Länge leve fika. Three "fikabröd" of your choice for 20SEK at my local Coop. The guy next to me, waiting for his "fikabröd" told me that he needed to keep his weight where it was, if you know what I mean. Sounded like a good excuse to me.
A couple of warm days did the trick. Most of the recent snow is gone. Didn't plan to visit the tree but that's what happened. Had the wrong lens with me so this is nine photos stitched together. Met Christina near the tree, shouted a quick hello, not sure if she recognised me as I was wearing a balaclava.
Swedish word of the day. Bygghiss. Temporary elevator. This is two photos blended together. The building is called Brf Blicken, part of the new project Haningeterrassen in Handen.
Looks like one part of the new 18-storey high-rise building at the big project Haningeterrassen, Brf Blicken, in Handen will get a brick façade. As seen behind the scaffolding earlier today. Shot with my new Canon lens that I bought from Lasse last year.
Another photo from my visit to the Rudan nature reserve last week. The Lower Lake is where you can find the fish, and these ice fishers were there to prove just that.It was a cold day, around -5C, not sure if they got anything.
The lack of snow in Stockholm this Winter has been tough for the Cross-Country skiers. They need a lot of skiing practice before the big race of the year, the Vasaloppet, so when the snow finally arrived a short track was up and running in no time at all at the Rudan nature reserve and that's where I snapped these photos a few days ago.
A sudden change in the weather. Two days ago it was -15C. Today it is 4C and snow snow is slowly melting away. Took this snap at home yesterday afternoon. The glowing greenhouse, today owned by Blomorado was built back in 1991.
Lots of construction in this part of Tungelsta recently with the new commuter station and the new houses at Stav/Lillgården. And there's plenty more to come. This open field at Lillgården will soon be history. A year from now when the construction of the houses in the background will be finished this big field will be a busy building site as a number of six-storey apartment buildings, a pre-school and a gymnasium will be constructed here. If you can read the local lingo or if you just have working eyes more info here.
We had a cold start to the week today. -15C. Frost everywhere. It would have been a good day for Winter Photography but I had to get my mother to and from the hospital so no photos today. I took this photo a couple of days ago. It shows a building that was once known as Mulsta Länsmansboställe. For a few centuries many Vassals lived here. You might have seen it before as I sometimes stop for a photo here on my walks 7bike rides to the old tree.
New greenhouse in the new park at Stav/Lillgården in Tungelsta. They set it up just last year. Didn't last very long did it? One or two windy days finished it off.
New parking area at the commuter station in Tungelsta. In the background the new retirement home at Lillgården. We have enough snow for a real Winter now. -3C when i took some Winter snaps earlier today. Lots of people out ploughing snow with is a good workout if you don't do it from a tractor.
I could also have called this masterpiece 'snow on an old aluminium ladder' but I choose not to do that. The weatherman was correct. He predicted snow today, and sure enough, it started to snow two hours ago.
Still waiting for the real Winter to arrive. Shot this last week on my way to the old tree. It's been another gray day with the wind picking up and if the prognosis is correct it's time to find that snow shovel tomorrow.
And on another issue I can't comment at some of the other blogger blogs. Tried three times at Grace's blog today and at Williams blog the other day.
A different take on the old tree. Looks good from all sides in this weather. I'm out of new material now so I will have to find something new to photograph tomorrow. The lousy Winter weather continues. The temperature hovers around freezing and the sky is gray. The weatherman talked about a snow fall covering the whole county come Tuesday. I guess we will just have to wait and see about that.
A photo from my recent visit to the old tree. It was a cold morning with lots of frost and mist, but we have no snow whatsoever although this sure looks like a real Winter photo.
The first visit to the old tree this year was a cold and foggy affair. I took the bike and I wore a balaclava against the cold, that combined with my eyeglasses made for very foggy glasses and I had to stop a couple of times as the visibility was minimal.
Cold and frosty today. And extremely foggy. You could hardly see anything, but I did manage to get a few photos, despite my fingers freezing to ice within seconds as I had to take off my gloves to get the camera working. This is a fence on the bridge crossing the railway at the Tungelsta commuter station.
Row house reflection. These houses at Lillgården in Tungelsta are for sale at the moment.

Turning the camera a little to the left from yesterdays Color Splash we can see another couple of new apartment buildings currently under construction at Lillgården in Tungelsta.
Tricky to find anything colorful to photograph this time of the year. Gray skies and rain most of the time. You might recognize this, it's a new living area currently under construction at Lillgården in Tungelsta that I try to document every now and then.
Not much ice on the Lower Lake at the Rudan nature reserve this Winter. In the background a crane used for the construction of the new buildings at Haningeterrassen, including the 18-storey high-rise apartment building Brf Blicken. Shot with the new Canon zoom lens, this is nine photos stitched together.
The old farm house at Rudan. The area is today a nature reserve, the house sits between the two lakes, and if you walk in there today you will find the people that run the local fishing club.
It was 5C and no wind as I made my way to the Rudan nature reserve on the first bike ride of the new year. Noticed a few people fishing from the piers at the lower lake. One guy was busy stretching at the outdoor gym, other than that nothing much happened. This is a view over the Upper lake and the tiny beach.
This is "Gubben". He is made of wood. He spends his days standing on a shelf at Bergdalen, where he has lived all his life. My dad carved him into life from dried wood sometime back in the 1940s. Gubben doesn't get around much, he is a lazy old fart, but I have asked him to tag along on my bike rides around Haninge this year, so maybe that is about to change now.
