junk and crap
Cleaned out the cellar yesterday from old furniture, an old TV, paint buckets, other buckets filled with whatever, VCR's, satellite recievers, a microwave oven and much more. Turned out to be bad idea when you have the flu! Dizzy Spell here I come! The people at Blomorado (my neighbours) then filled their big truck and drove off to the "återvinningsstation", or recycle station if you like.

Light before the storm
We are having some weather today...This was the scene ad midday. It started to rain a few minutes after I took this shot. The view is from where I live at bergdalen in Tungelsta from a hill ca 20 meters high. The Greenhouses belong to Blomorado, before that my family owned it. The greenhouse next to the blue house was shortened a few years ago. We sold a piece of the land and today there's four houses there (the other two just to the right). At the extreme left you can see some of the new park. Across the road is a housing area called Rosgården. It was built back in 1984. Before that it was greenhouses there, the gardener cultivated roses. Up in the forest to the right there's a lake called Vädersjön, a direct translation of that would be Lake Weather!

A few kilometers from me, this is Stav. A rural area with a couple of farms. Over the last decade more and more horse farms have sprung up here.

Midsummer Sunset
Cobblestoned street
Another view of our Capitol. This is Höga Stigen (High Walk) close to Mosebacke Torg on Södermalm. If you visit Stockholm this is a great place for a walk. And if you are looking for a bar try Mosebacke Etablissement, a combined indoor theater, comedy club, and outdoor café with a spectacular view of the city.

Stockholm
I was planning to shoot a few shots of Stockholm yesterday, but something came up and I had to cancel my visit. So here is a photo I took one year ago. I can promise you that it looks the same today!
This is Hawk Street on Södermalm in Stockholm. Mosebacke Torg (famous for the amazing view) and Södra teatern (theatre) is around the corner. This part of town has become very hip in the last few years. I used to work not long from here and have spent many summer nights in this part of the Capitol.

1881
This is Skärgårdskrogen at Dalarö, established back in 1881. I had a pizza and a glass of milk after a long and very sweaty bike ride from Tungelsta. We are expecting rain for the biggest of all swedish weekends, Midsummer, so I give you this photo from my visit last year. Most buildings here are old and wooden and very beautiful. There's a regatta here later in the summer that I will not miss. And this is a great place to come and party during the summer months, for the whole family.

Dalarö Harbour
Dalarö is a seaside resort in Haninge. 40 km from Stockholm. Filled with hotels, restaurants, pubs and boutiques and a few desent beaches and a fantasic nature. A beautiful place well worth a visit. This photo is from a visit last year take down at the harbour. You can take ferrys from here out to the archipelago. This is the number one tourist magnet in Haninge. In Sweden, everyone has the right to be out in the countryside, visitors from abroad as well as Swedish citizens. We call this "the right of public access". It is a benefit not found in a great many other countries. One may also look upon the right of public access as a great freedom. But our freedom in the countryside must not infringe upon the freedom of others. More photos from this this to Dalarö here in my flickr set.

The Fibonacci Spiral
This is a Snow Lady. A chrysanthemum that now grows in a flower bed at Bergdalen in Tungelsta where I live. It came from the greenhouses at Blomorado. If you look closely you can see the spiral. The Fibonacci Spiral is a geometric spiral whose growth is regulated by the Fibonacci Series.
Read more about it in this wikipedia article:

Art Promenade
Every summer a group of artists from the Art Gallery at Kyrkskolan in Österhaninge sets up an art promenade, konstrundan in swedish. It's a nice stroll along an old viking road with no traffic. You walk at your own pace and when you're done you can buy a cup of coffee down at the gallery and drink it in the garden. This years theme is Birds. And there was birds all over! The promenda will be up all summer. I have created a flickr set with a few photos. You can wath them as a slideshow if you like.

Art Promenade 2006
The Art Promenade opened in Österhaninge today. The theme of the promenade this year was birds. There was 10 official art works and a lot of extra wooden birds hanging from the trees. I will create a set and add photos for you to see at flickr when I have the time. The promenade starts in Jordbro at the ancient grave field and goes down to the art gallery in Österhaninge along the old viking road. If you want to see last years Art Promenade PRESS HERE.

Can you do this?
No. I was out on a bike ride when I saw two kids showing off there latest moped tricks. There's a long straight here ( 1,5 km) and not that much traffic. From Nederstaleden in Västerhaninge. I did see the same guys last week. They are getting better. Probably not very legal but there's no police here so why not!

Skogsekeby Road 45
New areas are developed and houses are popping up everywhere these days. Some look really really awful, but I like this one. It's on Skogsekebyvägen. A two laned road that is used by the locals as a shortcut between Tungelsta Road and Södertälje Road. But don't tell anyone ok? There's a new area housing complex under construction not far away from here called Solsäter. I was going to post a photo from there but nothing had happend since my last visit so I give you this typical swedish home instead.

That Old Tree (Warmest day of the year)
This has been the warmest week for a long long time in Sweden. I took the bike up to the old oak at Välsta in Yungelsta for another photo. A bit sweaty! Should have gone to the beach. Well there's always tomorrow. Although the say it will be some thunder and lightning then.

Strimlus
Warmest day of the year. We had 30 C here today. My kind of weather! I stopped at Kalvsvik. Parked my bike next to the old viking road and headed for a small hill. It's a great view. The golden rape field, the art gallery and the old church. As I sat there, I noticed a few red bugs. It was a "strimlus" the official landscape bug of Södermanland. So I took a few macro shots.

Short uphill climb
This must have been the warmest day of the year. It was 20 C when I woke up. It was 25C when I got on the bike. I was sweating when I took this photo 18 minutes later. That's how long it took me to reach the ancient grave field. I always take this road when I'm heading for Jordbro or Handen. This is Viking land and there's no cars allowed here. This is how green it gets I think. We are expecting 28 C tomorrow. I think I will have to hit the beach tomorrow if only just to test the water temperature!

When can I see her again?
That's the question that Benny the Boxer asks Danuta. Benny had a visit from a boxer girl the other day. He was very happy. No visit from her today so no smiles for the photographer this time...
Danuta is my neighbour and Benny is her familys crazy dog. He does what he likes. He is very strong. I have a flickr set all about this crazy dog. He is very photogenic, dont you think?

How to take a cool photo
Aim your camera at your feet. Take a photo. Move the camera up a bit and take another picture. The sky is the limit. Then use the free software autostitch. Then upload to flickr or blogger. Sit down and listen to the applause. This is the new roundabout in Västerhaninge at Åby plan. We now have 15 roundabouts in Haninge.

Paths we walk
If you walk down this old road at Kalvsvik in Österhaninge and turn right up ahead behind those houses, there's an old burial field with some ancient remains. This is Viking land. There's one or two fortresses in the woods here somewhere. I will probably be back soon to investigate and take more photos of course!

Kalvsvik
A promenade around Hesslingby in Österhaninge. A rural area where the Vikings used to live. They built the road I walked down. This is a rural area. A few horse farms, an old church and an art gallery. And a big golden rapeseed field. From watching this photo and the others in this flickr set I'm sure you can imagen the scent!

Summer Landscape
This house was built by my grandfather on my mothers side of the family. He died when my mother was eight years old.I didnt know about that hje had built the house until I took a winter photo a few months ago. My mother saw the photo on flickr and said "my dad built this!" I don't know the people that live here. It's an older couple is all I know. But I like this place.

Let's hit the water!
Wanna run out on the pier and jump into the sea? I would recommend that you wait a few weeks. It was very cold...
From my first summer visit to Årsta Havsbad, my favorite beach in Haninge. A 25 minute bike ride from home. I've just made a set with photos from this place. Nearly 100 photos since I joined flickr!

That Old Tree (june 3th)
Finally. Summer. I like that. Took a promenade up to my photo project at Välsta. It was very windy. But warm. No one around. Not many people walk down this old road. A few horse back riders and one or two joggers. That's all. The road ends down at the little forest. There's a hill down there. I walk up once in a while. Someone has had a barbecue up there. I wasn't invited.

Cow Tipping?
Never heard about it. I prefer to lie down while sleeping. This has been today's bad joke. This cow and her friends live at a farm around Fors in Haninge.
