Another sign of spring

We had a fine spring day yesterday. Around 13C. With a lot of sunshine. I have now chased down my first butterfly of the year. A Small Tortoiseshell.

Three recent photos

Three very different photos. A familiar logo, this time fenced in for some reason. A young girl rolling a cigarette at a cafe. And a macro photo of a butterfly that seemed to like me.

Birdman & Butterfly

I took the bike down to Välsta yesterday. Closing in on the old tree I ran into my friend Bird Man. We decided to park the bikes and go for a walk in the rural landscape. A few tractors were out on the fields, and the farmers where busy wrapping hay bales in plastic film. We walked over to one of the blooming canola fields at the Nödesta farm. Bird Man figured he could use some portraits for his Facebook site so I grabbed the camera and started shooting. The butterfly is a Small Tortoiseshell.

Chasing Butterflies

Back in July I was busy one morning chasing a butterfly around the house. I cought up with the insect in the living room and here is proof of that. This is a Poplar Admiral, or an Aspfjäril as we like to call it.

It's been raining all day...

Lousy weather today. I don't really feel like going out for a Sunday promenade with
the camera. Instead I will show you a photo I took just the other day when the sun was shining. A peacock butterfly, one of those wonderful signs of spring. Bigger photo.

My Right Foot

I'm very popular in the the local insect community. Whenever I walk outside bugs, beetles, wasps and bees will come over to say hello. Here it's a peacock butterfly resting on my foot as I'm sitting in the back garden drinking some coffee. Bigger photo.

Butterfly on Yellow

A butterfly on the veranda wall at Bergdalen. This wall will be repainted tomorrow. Best seen at the original size.

Fields at Nedersta

I have been shooting a lot of macro photography lately. Some of those photos are taken close to the old tree. A part of my neck of the woods known as Nedersta.

Here are you see a mating pair of Plebejus argus, Silver-studded Blue on a tansy plant at Välsta in haninge.

Yellow Ladybug :)

I was shooting a few photos of this butterfly on a field in Stav outside Tungelsta,( it's a aphantopus hyperantus). When I came back home and opened the photo in Picasa I noticed the ladybug, hence the title! We are having a great summer in Sweden this year. So I'm often out walking with my camera, in macro mode.

Silver-washed Fritillary

Going macro in my back garden in Tungelsta. This is a Silverstreckad pärlemorfjäril. Before digital cameras I never noticed bugs, insects or butterflies. These days I see them everywhere.

A Butterfly

I don't know what it is, a Lasiommata megera maybe? Sitting there on a window at Danuta's place. I was helping my neighbours with a computer thingy when I noticed the butterfly. Very beautiful creatures if you ask me.
