Stockholm in June
It was the warmest day of the year, so far. Closing in on 30C as I started the 4 km walk around Långholmen on Saturday afternoon. Långholmen is an island in Stockholm. A former prison island with an interesting history. I was there with a friend to look at the busy street life, or should I perhaps say the beach life. More of that to come. First, here are some of the views you get towards the central part of Stockholm from the island. You can see City Hall, Stadshuset. The two new towers, called Norra Tornen. The Mälar Pavillion. Kungholmen with Norr Mälarstrand. The Ekery ferry, and more. All classic Stockholm views.

Grand Theft Auto
One of my friends sublets a house on his property. Police were there with a couple of cars on Saturday. Pretty sure my friend's "houseguest" will be goon soon. Sad story really. I don't have all the facts but it looks like "his" Audi belonged to someone else. When we arrived the police had stopped another man who was driving away with the Audi hidden on a trailer, no idea how the police managed to be there just when that happened, so we speculated about that for a while as we were preparing the BBQ. My buddy had a long chat with the female officer before they searched the property. Twenty minutes after the police had left, the houseguest arrived home looking very worried and my buddy had a longish chat with him.

Poseidons torg
The best place for shooting candid portraits in Haninge would be the square Poseidons torg in Handen. I snapped these photos sitting at a table outside the cultural center. I gave my card to the woman in the first photo. The boy with the blue hair noticed me a few minutes earlier when I took another street portrait of him going the other way.

Summer Pastry
The adverbs just kept coming when the Hunter S Thompson lookalike decided to try this new pastry at the cafe a couple of days ago. A cinnamon bun with cream and strawberries! Unheard-of.

This way to the top
The walk Stora Gålöslingan starts at a pedestrian bridge down by the water at Morarna. The directions are simple enough. Follow the red markings. But it's easy to forget about these things on a beautiful Summer day, and all of a sudden we were looking at a steep cliff. So it was decision time. Walk back or climb up. And as the only way is up we decided to climb. Reaching the top a few minutes later I had time to tell a surprised hiker that we had decided on a more difficult trek, before snapping the photo of my buddy Hasse as he finished his climb. Had we fallen down there would have been a few broken bones, or worse.

Summertime
Photos from the grassy beach at Gålö Havsbad. The weather this very unusual Summer can be summed up in one word. Scorchio.

Gålö Havsbad
The Gålö nature reserve sees one million visitors per year. And there are many interesting places to check out. Whenever I visit I try to stop at the beach at Skälåker. It is called Gålö Havsbad. You can camp or rent a house very close to the water. As you can guess from these photos the area is popular with kitesurfers.

Redhead
Back at my favorite cafe Malmens konditori in Handen after a visit to the Gålö nature reserve. Another warm and sunny Summer day. I noticed this girl a few seconds before the walked into the shot, nice when you can prepare a candid photo. It looks like she will enjoy a glass of wine with her dinner.

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch
The caretaker Mikael and a few people working for him, including this teenage girl, were busy fixing the boardwalk and the jetty down at the Gravamaren beach in the Käringboda nature reserve in Nynäshamn when we arrived. We broke the rules and drove all the way down to the beach. Mikael gave us the evil eye before asking us if we were just unloading the car before driving the car back up to the parking lot, so we said, yes that is precisely what we are doing. When we left an hour later after our BBQ, we bribed the caretaker with a chorizo sausage that he gave to the teenage girl.

The tree-lined avenue at the Djursnäs Manor house in Nynäshamn. Spotted while on our way to the Käringboda nature reserve.

Gravamaren
I made two visits to the Käringboda nature reserve in Nynäshamn in the last week. These photos are from a walk from Grava to the little beach at Gravamaren. Amazing weather. A perfect Swedish Summer day, which means that everything was lagom.
