This is probably the most photographed foot tunnel in Stockholm. The Brunkeberg Tunnel. A 231 meter long tunnel between David Bagares gata and Tunnelgatan. Constructed back in the mid 1880s. The big opening ceremony back in the day were led by the then King Oscar II. It was a tricky construction job. They blasted their way from one side, but the wet clay on the other side caused a lot of problems. In the end, they opted for a technique invented by an English bloke. So they hired him and his freezing machine.

El tunel de la muerte, the infamous tunnel of death in Barcelona's Passeig de Gracia metro station, a dreaded 253 meters. Takes a good 5 minutes. Your brother must know it very well...
It looks more modern than its age.

I'm sure the tunnel has undergone a lot of renovations over the years, and I don't know how it looked say fifty years ago.
