Winter in Sweden
We had a cold start to the week today. -15C. Frost everywhere. It would have been a good day for Winter Photography but I had to get my mother to and from the hospital so no photos today. I took this photo a couple of days ago. It shows a building that was once known as Mulsta Länsmansboställe. For a few centuries many Vassals lived here. You might have seen it before as I sometimes stop for a photo here on my walks 7bike rides to the old tree.

Hopefully the barn isn't too far off for the pony.
Beautiful composition.
A wonderful composition and great colors. The horse looks like he's got his winter coat on. Sorry about your mother; I hope it's not too serious and that she recovers fully! Hard to believe that house is centuries old. But your photo brought forth a couple of questions for you which I'm sure will show my ignorance, but I'm curious enough to ask anyway.
My mother's father (my grandfather) Carl John Andreason, was born in 1865 in the Varmland area. His father, Johannes Andreason, married Louisa Hane, and I understand Hane is a military name. Louisa's grandfather was throughout his life a Swedish soldier and fought with the Swedish Army against Napoleon in Pomerania. It is said both of his ears were blown off in battle.
Here's what my grandfather's brother, Fred, wrote about his father: He came from a family of farmers in the province of Dalsland, in a parish known as Torrskog, near the border of Varmland. His home was known as Coperud. Fred writes that he was born in 1871 on a farm known as Blixrud, in Ekenas, which lies in the SW portion of Blomskog Parish in the province of Varmland.
I guess I have just one question: Do any of these names of places mean anything to you? Are they located near you?
A lovely winter pic! Hope your mum is okay.
It is a very Swedish scene. A house with bright colors.
Winter looks wonderful in Haninge Steffe ✨
I want a little snow and I give you rain
