Superman!

So we are going back in time a bit today. To the Summer of 1979. Early June. A Saturday, just like today. I am out camping with a group of friends. We have set up our tents at a little lake in a forest not far from home. It is now early afternoon and as this was the time of the Ghetto blaster, we turn on the radio and listen to a broadcast about the first ever Stockholm Marathon race taking place that day. A part of me wished that I was there, looking at this new event. One person that was there on that day, running in the race, was the 36-year-old Börje Carlsson. He finished the race in three hours and forty minutes that day just over four decades ago. And here he is in the 2022 Stockholm Marathon. Today 77 years old. And believe it or not, Börje has taken part in every Stockholm Marathon since 1979. So it is not all that surprising that his fellow runners applaud him when they notice him close by. Börje finished his 43rd race in just over six hours. More Marathon photos to come.
