Mörkö Kyrka
The medieval church at Mörkö. Some parts of the building date back just over 700 years. It has looked like this since around 1780. The aristocratic family Bonde that live on the island since a few hundred years has paid for some of the work on the church over time. I showed you their castle last Winter, press here to see that post.

Rather different from what I am used to.
700 years! They have looked after it well Steffe! I remember the castle on the hill, that was immaculate also. Good to see old architecture being appreciated and cared for ✨
A very interesting building. I'd love to see inside.
I would have never guessed this was a church. Interesting style and well taken cared for.
It is so unusual and gorgeous!
It’s really beautiful. Are there many stone churches in Sweden?
I continue to look up Swedish words. I see that bonde means farmer, or even, peasant.
And so there is Bonde castle and even Bonde palace. Though apparently the Bondes have not been peasants for a long, long time.
Most of them are made from stone. Here is a wikipedia list with photos.
