Building Site

Tuvvägen in Handen is a busy building site at the moment. You can see three apartment buildings currently under construction in this photo and also one that was finished earlier in the year. I'm sure it will look less messy when they are done here.

Don't fall down now okay?

Swedish word of the day. Stabil. Steady. That's what it says on the construction workers overalls. But this doesn't look too steady to me. A new apartmend building is taking shape at Tuvvägen in Handen. Called Södertuvan.

Wall & Window

This will be a multi-dwelling unit when they are done with 141 apartments called Södertuvan. At the moment the construction workers are busy fitting in all the big concrete blocks. From Tuvvägen in Handen. And I'm sure it will look more colorful when people have moved in. Second photo is a panorama made from six photos, shot with the nifty fifty, I had to wait for traffic between shots.

Five new apartment buildings here when they are done. From Tuvvägen in Handen. The ugly gray boxes across the road are cheap student apartments.

Low-energy Building

The hole in the ground

You might recognise the apartment building in the background as I have shown you a few photos of it during the last year. Looks like they are almost done with the exterior now. I think this will be some kind of care facility and I have seen furniture and a Christmas tree inside so someone is already working in there. A few months ago workers started digging a big hole here and that was the start of the next apartment building to be built here.

Prefab Modules

My CDP blogging friend in Livorno wished that he could have been here to watch a bit more of this prefab module technique that they are using more and more of in Sweden, so here are a couple of photos from the new apartment building currently being built at Tuvvägen in Handen. You often see people stop for a while when they are lifting another module into place. These guys (and girls), are professional so it is done quickly and safely.
