Woof?

Bullmastiff
Woof? Looks like Garron really enjoys all the fresh snow. Or maybe not. He was out walking his owner over the weekend when I spotted him. His owner keeps track on my photostream so a few minutes after posting this photo at flickr I messaged him to let hem know about the photo and he answered that he had already downloaded it! He also invited me for coffee and I will take him up on that come Spring when we can sit outside enjoying some "fika".

Cool dog of the day

Cool Dog of the Day
I sometimes take photos from a pedestrian bridge that crosses a busy road in Handen. You don't have to wait long before something interesting comes by. Like this cool dog riding shotgun in his humans Harley. It says Kastro on the sidecar so I'm guessing that is the name of the cool dog.

Grrr!

Grrr!
Met this little lion, dog in Västerhaninge yesterday. It stole both my bicycle gloves and put up a real fight, but in the end I managed to get them back without any real injuries. It is a Pom Pom and it's name is Teddi. Teddi spends a few days every week at my opticians place. At least when the opticians daughter is working. Teddi attracts a lot of attention. No one can walk past him without making a comment. A few people visit the optician just to pet the dog!

Catching A Ride

Catching A Ride
Met this cool dog at the cafe the other day. The dogs owner told me that the dog had fallen off once, so he biked very carefully now. The dog looked very relaxed. Getty Images wanted the photo, so maybe someone will buy it now.

Bork

Bork
This is Bork. He is a dog. He is two years old. He is new in town. He grew up in Flen and recently moved in with my neighbours, Danuta and Ingemar here at Bergdalen in Tungelsta. Bork told me that he doesn't like cats.

Sergei The Dog

Sergei The Pug
Out shooting some autumn scenes in Tungelsta a couple of days ago I noticed a family at a playground. They took no notice of me, but their dog saw me coming. He decided that I might be fun to play with, and had a go at biting my hands, so it was a good thing that I was wearing my new gloves. Meet Sergei The dog, not pug, thanks Malin and Mike.

A moment in time

French Kiss Cafe
You never know what you might see next at the cafe. Like this moment in time photo shows. I was enjoying coffee with a few people when I noticed that Karin, one of the waitresses had spotted a cute dog. The dog in question is called Dixie. I had a feeling that Dixie would like the attention so I lifted the camera and two seconds later I had the kiss documented.

Eyes on the ball

Eyes on the ball Met Christina (Tarantino's Favorite Actress), on my way to the old tree. She was with a friend & dog. I asked her if she had spotted the foxes, but a bit surprisingly she hadn't done that. Normally she knows everything that happens in this area when it comes to the flora and the fauna. The composition is a bit different here from how I normally photograph the old tree, but there you go.

Cruising with Diesel

Diesel the Dog

Carina & Diesel

This is Diesel the Dog. Sitting in his dog carrier waiting for the photographer to stop shooting. Diesel belongs to Carina. I spotted Carina & Diesel at Poseidon's Square on Sunday and knew that I had to take their portrait. Carina told me that she has been driving motorcycles for around four years. She uses the Honda Shadow on a daily basis for as long as the weather and climate will let her. When she's not out on the road with Diesel she is busy running her Pressbyrån franchise.

Walking The Dog

Walking The Dog

This is Jack. He is a dog. More precisely a Danish Swedish Farmdog. The two cute girls behind him are Elin and Amanda. They live in Tungelsta, and I met them near the Nödesta farm. Promenades are actually one of their hobbies, but if I heard them right they have yet to walk up to the old tree which was a bit of a surprise. They tried a few excuses not to appear in a photo. Like no make up, bad hair-day and a few more, but none of them took. Both girls are secondary school students. I asked if they had anything fun planned, and they sure did. It won't be long now before the girls fly down to Crete for a week of fun. And I'm guessing it will be a memorable vacation, as it's the first one they to without any parents around. My only advice to them was to try some Ouzo 12 with crushed ice and 7Up. And to fly down to Santorini next time and to some island hopping in the Cyclades.

Next Stop the Tattoo Parlour

Next Stop the Tattoo Parlour

I met Mona and Bengan, and their dog Bullen on a warm summer day last week. They were heading to a tattoo parlour, surprise surprise, but had time for a portrait and a chat. Mona works at SvD, the morning paper. Her big hobby is crosswords. Bengan works at Åhlens in Jordbro. His big hobby is Mona and he also interested in tattoos and airbrushing. He got his first tattoo fifteen years ago. In fact he did the tattoo himself! It's the red one on his wrist. Bengan knew a few people I had previously photographed. One of them being Gissen with the head tattoo. In a not too distant future Mona and Bengan plan to get married.

Babe of the Day

Babe of the Day

This is Siw. She's the babe of the day. Siw is retired and lives at Vendelsö. She used to work at Telia, and also as a personal assistant. Her posing dog is a bichon frisé, that answers to the name of Bosse. When we met in Handen yesterday Siw and Bosse where on their way to see a friend who just had a birthday. And as I finished shooting the friend turned up, and by now they have probably already used the birthday gift in Siw's bag, a cooler, not a bad gift considering the weather of late!

Funny Shot of the day

Walking The Dog

While in Handen a sunny day last week I noticed a TV crew from TV4 nearby and headed that way to see what was going on. It turned out to be Per and Johan from Förkväll. A programme that focuses on fashion and health, and a few other things. It's my mother's favourite show at the moment. It's hosted by three women. One of them is the former Miss Universe Yvonne Ryding. The woman you see here walking her dog Nikki, is Izza. She was on the Swedish version of the reality show Momma's Boys last year. She caused a bit of a scandal I guess, when she came out as bisexual, and I read somewhere that she was going to marry her girlfriend. When I met them last week they were shooting a 90 second intro that will air on June 2th when Izza will be a guest on the show. I took a bunch of photos of Izza and the crew, but I think this one was the best and also the funniest!

The Nanny

The Nanny

If I wanted to I could make a set called Dogs and their owners, and who knows, I might just do that some day. This is Maria. I noticed her in Handen today, near the mall. She was on her way out with her dog Luna, but had time to pose for a few quick portraits. As you can guess by the title Maria works as a nanny, or a barnflicka as one Swedish title would be. When she's not busy walking her dog, or nannying those kids, she's very likely to spend some time at the gym, working out. And that seems to be working just fine, as she really looks very fit. As does her dog, who really wasn't interested in posing for the photographer.

Posing with Zorro

Posing with Zorro

I have photographed quite a few people with dogs in the last few years and yesterday it was time for another such photo. I spotted Jenny with her white sunglasses in Västerhaninge. She was on her bike, and Zorro the German shepherd was walking next to her when I rode up on my new bike next to them and asked for a portrait. Jenny moved to Haninge from Huddinge one year ago. Her big hobby now is, as you can probably guess, dogs. She has two of her own, but Zorro belongs to a couple of friends. Years ago Jenny enjoyed horse back riding, but these days she's more into painting. That's all the facts I managed to get Jenny to reveal about her self.

The Poser

The Poser

From a distance I noticed this Jack Russel Terrier playing with a pine cone while balancing on the green bench, and I figured that would be a fun portrait, especially as the bench was surrounded by snow. The poser is called Vincent, and his proud owner goes by the name of Ulrika. She works at a book store here in Handen, where they sell student course books. We talked a bit about books and while I still read my novels, Ulrika mostly listens to them while driving. I mentioned a few previous portraits with cool coincidence's and while doing that The Dude passed by on his bike just to prove my point that it really is a small world after all.

Third time's the charm

Third time's the charm

This is Beki. I have met her twice before this year and asked her for a portrait, and today at Lake Rudan, she said yes, so it really pays to be persistent! She's a former rhetoric student at the university in Stockholm, so I'm very happy that I managed to persuade to pose for a portrait! Beki lives in Handen, she's currently on maternity leave and is often out walking with her dog Luna, a mastiff, and her baby son Marley. Beki is an artist, a professional singer. Although at the moment it's more of a hobby. She used to sing funk and hip-hop, but these days it's more spiritual music and Gospel and she has performed in a few churches.

Robban & Myzan

Robban & Myzan

November is not the best month to shoot street portraits in Haninge. It's mostly cold and windy, but here we go. This is Robban. I spotted his white hat from a distance in Handen yesterday and decided to move in and ask for a portrait. Robban lives in Handen and was out walking with his dog Myzan who is a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Myzan was a bit nervous, probably because of all the cars up on the road and possibly the wind as well. Robban works at Game in Vällingby. They sell video game consoles, and as it happens that type of games is one of Robban's interests.

Meet Kenny

Kenny

A Steffe Reflection

I was on the bike when I noticed this guy. Hard not to see him in that military outfit. Especially when combined with the wild white hair and beard, so I knew I had to ask him for a photo. Meet Kenny. And his dog Smulan who is a Kerry Blue Terrier. We ended up chatting about this and that for ten minutes or so and as I got ready to shoot I decided to take a self portrait in Kenny's sunglasses. Kenny lives at Åby Lund in Västerhaninge and that's where we met. He worked in the computer business for 30 years. He is married and has three kids. His daughter has moved to Ornö, an island in the Haninge archipelago. Kenny told me that the daughter and her husband has a little guest house that Kenny and his wife can use whenever they visit. And as Kenny loves everything about the sea, he visits as often as he can.
