The bike shop

Åbyplan
Åbyplan in Västerhaninge. A shopping center with ten or so stores. Harry's bike shop has been there since the 1960s. Harry still runs it with his wife, son, and one employee. I have bought a couple of bikes there over the years.

Åbyplan

Åbyplan
Out shooting with the Chinese 50mm 1.4 lens. There's a bit of a problem with the autofocus and I had to delete quite a few snaps. This is a panorama made from six photos. Photo shows my bike parked under a big tree at åbyplan in Västerhaninge.

Coffee Anyone?

Coffee Anyone?

Back in the mid 1980's I lived in an apartment near Åbyplan in Västerhaninge. Today when I visit it's either to get a haircut, or to fix my bike. Or as on this occasion, to grab a cup of coffee with my friend Jim at the Kaffebönan cafe. This coffee pot was on sale at their yard sale. I didn't buy it, but figured I could get a very cool Skywatch photo.

Is Spring here already?

A Sign of Spring

Spotted these two guys, who works for the municipality, at the water and sanitation department, enjoying a cup of coffee in the winter sunshine at Åbyplan in Västerhaninge today. In my book that counts as a true sign of spring. Erik and Harry may not be as pretty as Charlotte whom I met here at the Kaffebönan cafe one year ago. But the interesting thing is that last years spring sign came ten days later, compared with this year. So after three long months of winter and snow, spring could be around the corner!

Oh, and it looks like we will have a few days of sunshine, but according to the weatherman more cold weather and snow is expected next week...

Meanwhile, at the...

Meanwhile, at the...

...Hopeful Cafe.

A year ago this was where I spotted the first sign of spring. Back then it was the beautiful Charlotte and her friends that caught my eye. Haven't seen anyone here this year, but at least there's some hope of spring!
