The old smithy

Winter-Midday-Light

I just realised that I have published nearly 30 photos of the old smithy at the Nödesta farm. So I guess it's time to make a set of all those photos. I shot this latest photo a couple of days ago. The building was not just a smithy, day laborers also lived here, and there was a laundry in the basement. Today it is used as a warehouse.

That was a great slide show of a charming scene, captured in a variety of seasons.

I can see why you're attracted back to the smithy over and over Steffe it's a lovely old building.. The colours do look good covered in snow.

En fin, gammal byggnad! Men allra mest gillar jag din variation i bilderna där huset finns med som bakgrund eller huvudmotiv. Många fina bilder i din samling!

I don't think I would have liked to be a smithy or a day laborer here, even though it's a nice-looking building.

Nice Flickr set of photos of the smithy. What interested me most was seeing how you treated the transmission tower that hovers over it. Sometimes you included it without apology. Other times, you changed your point of view slightly and hid it or left it out of the photo. The series is almost a primer on how to deal with a big, nearby structure.

Yes, red and white works well together here Grace.

Det är kul att försöka hitta nya vinklar varje gång.

I hear you Lowell, The farmer told me a horrible story about one day labourer. It dates back many many years. The farm worker asked for more money, the then farmer answered by throwing him out a window. Those were the days...

Glad you pointed that out Jack. That tower is always on my mind when I shoot here.
