A Yellow Cottage

A Yellow Cottage

Living next to the railway track can have it's disadvantages. As the platform at the commuter station in Tungelsta needed more space, an old cottage had to be removed. But now as the work has finished the owners have a brand new cottage and also a fence protecting them from the platform.

Lovely sense of place with their color choice for their new cottage. Visually it is charming, and if they like train noise, perhaps that is not a draw back either. . .hey, a train just sounded its horn in the distance from down on the tracks about a mile from here. Must be low tide as I can seldom hear them unless it is. I wonder why that is, and how fun to hear a train when I was writing about one.
In California they put tall block walls up along the freeways to keep sound, light, and noise from houses on the other side.

Thanks all. It's probably the snow that makes the cottage stand out here. The old cottage had the same yellow color. Luckily for them it's only the commuter train that passes by here.
