Vroom!

A Fat Bob Harley-Davidson. A Peugeut Django moped and a Kawasaki VN 1500 Classic. Three panning photos shot from the pedestrian bridge crossing Gudöbroleden earlier in the week. They are all riding down Söderbyleden. My first panning photos this year.

Microcar

Roughly three meters long. Very pink. Easy to park, easy to spot.

Safety First

Who needs a helmet anyway? As seen from the cafe a while back. Of course it is possible that the dude with the smartphone is doing some online search for a cool looking helmet. Maybe something from the Nutcase Motor Sport Helmet collection?

Masen

One or two cool mopeds at this years Easy Rider festival at Vegabaren. It rained on and off but I stayed around for a couple of hours looking at all sorts of unusual motorcycles and mopeds. This moped is called Masen. That tells me that the guy who built it is a man from Dalarna.

Organ Donors

While shooting some snaps from a bridge I spotted at least two potential organ donors. Driving without a helmet in the busy traffic can be really stupid and of course very illegal. The fine for that is 1500SEK. Driving around with a mug of coffee in one hand seems a bit ridiculous. And unnecessary as it would be very tricky to drink some of that coffee with the helmet on!

Husqvarna Roulette

Found this vintage moped parked outside a grocery store in Västerhaninge yesterday. It's a 1957 Husqvarna Roulette. Designed by Sixten Sason. A real monster at 0.8 hp. Came with two or three speeds. Cost 790SEK back in 1957. Today owned by Leffe whom you have met on the blog a few times. He normally rides a Harley.

Vintage Mopeds

Monica and Peter out riding their vintage mopeds. A Puch Alabama from 1971, and a Crescent "raketarsle" from 1967. They both own two mopeds each. And a couple of motorcycles. And a few old cars. They are a couple, but they don't live together. I met them in Västerhaninge a few days ago. They try to visit a weekly meet in Haninge, popular with bikers and lovers of old American cars, a meet I am yet to visit.

Iron-X

Left by the side of the road. Probably stolen. I stopped and had a go at shooting a bokeh panorama of the moped. A few hours later when I passed in the other direction it was gone.

Winter is after all one of the four seasons in this country

We've had some seriously bad weather in the last few days. With record breaking snow falls the traffic situation has been in complete chaos. Yesterday morning it was -20C and people were asked to stay home as public transport had completely collapsed. Commuters have been stuck in trains for up to ten hours, because of ice and snow problems. I could go on and on about what has happened, but if you are interested it's better that you read about it at The Local. The photo here is a moped that has been parked outside an apartment building here in Tungelsta for two months now. I'm guessing it belongs to a very winter tired teenager.

Can you do this?

No. I was out on a bike ride when I saw two kids showing off there latest moped tricks. There's a long straight here ( 1,5 km) and not that much traffic. From Nederstaleden in Västerhaninge. I did see the same guys last week. They are getting better. Probably not very legal but there's no police here so why not!
