Heleneborg

This is Heleneborg. Located just across the street from the bridge to the Långholmen island at Söder Mälarstrand. Named so by Adolph Christiernin, a man with an interesting life story. He bought the property in 1759 and named it after his wife, Helena. Adolph inherited a lot of money and properties when his father died. While studying in Germany, he found a book that talked about a treasure. In a mine in Bergslagen, there were supposedly a lot of gold that no one had been able to find. Back in Sweden, he bought the mining rights, and then spent nearly 20 years trying to find the gold. After that, he went bankrupt. And as he couldn't pay his debts, he was locked up at Bysis, a detention center not far from Heleneborg. He lived his last few years in poverty.
