Romancing in the park

Romancing in a park

Here are as promised a few more photos from my recent visit to the Häringe Castle down at the nature reserve, at the Häringe peninsula. On my walk around the garden I noticed this couple near the pond at the 17th century palace. I took a quick snap and I don't think they saw me.

Not Padova

Just in front of the main entrance you can see this sculpture. If you like Shakespeare, Häringe is the place for you this summer. The Mirror Theatre group is setting up the comedy The Taming of the Shrew at the Rotunda, that for this purpose has been made to look as a piazza in Padova. It's not the first time that the theatre group sets up a Shakespeare play. They have been doing that for 24 summers. But it is the first Shakespeare place at the castle. And as the castle today is a popular hotel, you can buy a package that includes the show, dinner, a room for the night, and breakfast in the morning. Or you could go for the Josephine Baker suite in the seawing. It comes with a jacuzzi, and if the kids don't like the play, the hotel have 42" TVs with Playstation. All the rooms are named after famous celebrities and movie stars that have visited the castle.

This garden is very interesting with beautiful statues. I have to confess that my best 'portraits' are of statues, which says a lot of my social skills...
A couple of great photos with the statue well placed in context.

What a beautiful place. It's good you gave the couple some privacy.

what a treat, to stay at the hotel/castle and see some Shakespeare...if I were there, that's what I'd be doing FOR SURE...

Looks like a great castle! Do you need someone to "housesit?" I could be available in June or July 2010!

Shakespeare in a beautiful palace hotel with wonderful gardens — heaven to me and my husband!

The boy in the second photo looks ... erm ... aroused, or I am seeing something else there?

I have thought it would be nice to have a castle or a monumental house like the famous "Biltmore House" in North Carolina. We have visited there more than once. It is huge. To have my coffee and read the newspaper each morning in a different part of the house in a different room surrounded by things you would remember with fondness.

That couple does seem a bit too self-absorbed to notice you and your camera. Shakespeare in the park in summer, it hardly gets much better. And in such a setting. I would love to indulge in the entire package.

Those two in the first shot are so engrossed in each other I don't think anyone would bother them! Looks like a nice place to spend a weekend.

The are really great shots of the statues; maybe almost as good as your people shots:) I like the composition of the first picture very much.

Thanks people. Spot on Eamon. Aroused he is. I haven't been able to find any info about this sculpture. I guess I could ask the people running the hotel on my next visit.
