The Football Fanatic

Once A Blue....

As you can probably guess by the title Kaowe is a into soccer. His team is Man United. I met him and his sister in Handen some time ago. They were on their way back to the house in Jordbro after a promenade. Kaowe was easy to spot in his summer outfit. We were expecting summer temperatures, and he sure dressed accordingly. Being a huge fan of Man United Kaowe often flies over to the UK to watch the home games and also some of the away matches. An expensive hobby to say the least. And now as his team have reached the Champions League final in Rome I'm guessing he will be looking to get a ticket to that game.

Why his team is Man United? I am not much into soccer but if I remember well Swedish teams weren't so bad...
Soccer, like love, needs no reasons.
Great outfit and memorable portrait.

It's easy to see and to say, how the world is getting smaller.
We move with ease around the globe and make new friends.
Life also, like love, needs no reasons, as the Poet has said !

Thanks for calling in Adelaide, you are always most welcome.

Great portrait of a real character. It takes courage to wear an outfit like that:) I wonder how his support for a non-Swedish team goes over with his friends.

Thanks for your support with my Strangers project. It is fun and now that I have started,I plan to see it through.

Some people here go nutty over American football...I've never quite understood, however, the fanaticism of some soccer fans.

Great photo!

I'm, afraid your memory isn't what it used to be Mr. Poet:-). There are no Swedish teams that can compete with the top European leagues any more. His outfit was the first thing I noticed. Pyjamas, ha! He told me that the airline tickets were very inexpensive but to get hold of a ticket to a game you often need to buy those second hand online and that can be very expensive indeed. These days most soccer fans probably follow two teams. On Swedish and one from the big European leagues.

You caught me: it's not the memory, it's the age. I just realized that I stopped following football when Göteborg was still something to watch. Please do not say how many years... or decades!

He's a well dressed man. Always good to know of fellow Manchester United fans. However, I am a new fan, following Manchester U. since April of 2008.
