The story behind the photo

The story behind the photo
I am on the bike. I spot the old Fiat as it leaves a shopping center and passes me by on Nynäsvägen in Handen. So I think, there goes a missed photo opportunity. Minutes later, I see it parked at Vegabaren. So I cycle that way. As I close in, the owner stands in front of his car admiring it, while snapping away with his smartphone. So I ask if he would mind if I take a photo as well. No, you could take a lot of photos if you would like to. So as he walks in and order some food, I take my photos. A guy working at the fast food joint walks by with a big green garbage bin. He says something about the beauty of the old car, I agree and continue taking photos, not realizing that I now shoot with the autofocus turned off. Something I just realized yesterday morning while looking at a few very blurry photos. But the first bunch came out okay, and here is the first photo I took.

Vintage Rides

Chevrolet Impala Buick Super
That is a Buick Super on the second photo. The green ride is a Chevrolet Impala, probably the most popular classic American car among the many "raggare" in Sweden. The girl driving it looks very familiar so I have no doubt taken her portrait at the annual meet at Vegabaren here in Handen.

Ford Falcon Ranchero

1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero Ford Falcon Ranchero
When I saw this car drive away from me in Västerhaninge two days ago I figured I had missed my chance of taking some photos of it. But then 20 minutes later in another part of Haninge there it was again. Driving towards me so I waved to the driver and when he stopped I asked if he had a few minutes. Tony told me that he bought the 1965 Ford Falcon Rancher earlier this year. It's a very rare car. Only 600 or so were made and he thought his was the only one in Sweden, or Europe even. Both photos shot using the Brenizer method. Fifteen or so photos per image, shot with the nifty fifty at f/2.8.

The O.L.D look is the new look

The O.L.D look is the new look
Here is another portrait from the vintage market at Årsta Castle. This is Linda Larssen. A very photogenic designer. Find out more at Obviously Linda Design. Oh, and she is getting married this Summer to Daniel.

Elvira

Elvira Elvira
Årsta castle was filled with attractive girls during the vintage market. But I only counted one photographer, guess who? Elvira and her friends were busy teaching how to put on a classic makeup. Luckily for me she had the time to walk outside and pose for a few portraits with the castle garden as a summery backdrop. Elvira enjoys photography, and is part of something called the Vintage Mafia. I shot these portraits with the 85mm lens.

The English Rose

The English Rose The English Rose
I visited a vintage market at a castle in Haninge a while back and met some interesting people. This is The English Rose. She moved to Sweden because of love. She is now learning the local lingo, which is quite hard apparently, but I could easily understand her. She sells vintage clothing under the name Pete & the Rose.
