Sunday Secret

Sunday Secret. An alternative rock-band from Vallentuna, Stockholm, performing at the Trädgårdsrocken festival in Tungelsta on Saturday. All the members in the band wore orange for some reason. Ebba & Zelda

First on stage during this years rock festival in the park in Tungelsta, Trädgårdsrocken, was Ebba & Zelda. The weather is amazing. 25C from a clear blue sky and the park is filled with people. More photos in the coming week.

Rock Photo

The last act to perform during the rock festival in the park in Tungelsta was Lugnet. It's been like that for three years now. They play 70s rock and always give 100 percent. Here are a few snaps of the band in a slideshow. Rock on!

There were many interesting looking people at the Trädgårdsrocken festival in the park. Here are three candid portraits. Although the two women clearly noticed the photographer.

M.O.B

M.O.B on stage during Trädgårdsrocken in the park in Tungelsta. Performing Legions Of The Antichrist. All ten bands used the same drums (more or less), which was great as the drum set was brand new. The owner figured they would sound great after the festival when they were played-in.

Zombie Space Pirates

One of my favorite bands playing at the rock festival Trädgårdsrocken in the park in Tungelsta yesterday was the Zombie Space Pirates. They play Psychobilly. And are a great live band.

Take Our Photo

The annual rock festival Trädgårdsrock in the park in Tungelsta is under way. The park is slowly filling up with people. The weather is perfect. Around 25C and no rain in sight. This is in no particular order, Mauricio, Jasmine, Tina, Amanda and Emma.

Lugnet

The last band to play during the Trädgårdsrock festival was the crowd favourite from last years event, Lugnet. These guys have only played together for one year but they are all very experienced musicians, and they look and sound great live. They play 70's rock, a bit of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Mother Kasabian

Mother Kasabian during their gig at the rock festival in Tungelsta on Saturday. The festival was a big success. The park was crowded all day and the weather was great. The non-profit organisation Musikcentralen who arranges the festival sold burgers and t-shirts and hopefully made some money. More photos in the coming days.

Ebba Lundell

The annual rock festival in the park in Tungelsta is under way. The first artist to take to the stage was Ebba Lundell. It was her first ever live performance. She has a great voice. She sang five songs, a couple of covers, and a few afew that she had written herself. More photos to come in the next week or so.

Guitar Pose

After enjoying a burger on the lawn in the Tungelsta park the guitarist in the band Revolution Riot took to the stage for a bit of Rock'n'roll.

Zombie Space Pirates

If you mix Rockabilly with punk you get Psychobilly. This is Zombie Space Pirates, a great Psychobilly band, and the coolest act to play at the rock festival in Tungelsta. The band have three members and you can see all three here. The bass player is called Sebbe. I met and photographed him four years ago when I was still doing the 100 Strangers project. The sax player also plays the washboard and that is of course very cool. As is the unique guitar that the lead singer is using in the above photo. If you have a working memory you might remember the worlds biggest Psychobilly fan, a cool guy that I met earlier this summer. He had only good things to say about this band.

Burger time

Seven hundred people in the park for the rock festival Trädgårdsrock. That is a lot of hamburgers.

Lugnet

The last band to take to the stage during the rock festival in Tungelsta on Saturday was a new constellation called Lugnet, after Christina Lugnet, a woman who sure knew how to party! You can read about that at The Local. The name can also mean The Calm. On the top photo you can see Bonden, guitarist in the band, he asked me to take some photos of their gig as the photographer they had planned to used had gone home. Rock on!

Rock Festival

The annual rock festival in the park took place in Tungelsta yesterday. Around 700 people gathered on the green lawns. Ten bands took to the stage during the seven hour music festival. The sun shone from a more or less blue sky all day. People were pick nicking everywhere, and one police officer was a bit impressed with how calm everything was, despite the high alcohol intake. I took a few hundred photos and I'm going to show you a few of them in the coming week. The guitarist here plays in a punk trio called The Tlark. During their half hour they managed to play quite a few songs as they were a bit on the short side, none longer than two minutes. Rock on!

Music in the Park

The music festival in the park in Tungelsta on Saturday was a big hit. As usual I listened to the music while walking around taking candid portraits of familiar and unfamiliar faces. My brother Tomas complained and said that there should have been more photos of the bands playing. You can see him in a few snaps btw. He brought wine and beer so I made a few pit stops at the bench where he sat with a couple of colleagues. Oh, and for a better look at the entertainers, have a look at the original sized version of the collage.

The Entertainers

The annual music festival in the park in Tungelsta took place yesterday. The event is organised by Musikcentralen that celebrated thirty years. A few of the original members are still active including my brother. It was a perfect day and evening, except for one guy who had too much to drink and managed to fall into the stream, but the ambulance crew took care of him. The sun was shining, the park was filled to capacity. The local soccer club Tungelsta IF made some money by selling hot dogs and burgers. In this collage you can see some of the bands that performed. Including Parkförvaltningen. The Clifftones. The Tungelsta Gubbs, (they were a big hit as they had a lot of wifes, ex-wifes and offspring in the crowd), played a few songs, I recorded a video that you can see on Vimeo. Also performing was Simon Peter and the medicine men, including my friend Birdman . Elemental 6, and Family X. I will show you more photos from the park tomorrow.

People at the park

Around six hundred people gathered in the park in Tungelsta on Saturday for the annual rock festival, Trädgårdsrock. It was a good day. Very warm and sunny. As per usual I took a few portraits. The Rock and Roll Baby on the top photo was probably the youngest visitor. The redheads on the second photo has a short story attached to it. I met one of the girls ( the one to the left), earlier in the day in Västerhaninge, and asked for a portrait, but she turned me down claiming never to look good in front of a camera. But when I spotted her with a friend in the park a few hours later she changed her mind and I'm glad to proove that her assumption was wrong!
The guy on the third photo is Putte. We were in the same class for 12 years, if you count pre-school and Secondary School. If you would like to know how he looked back in 1983, press here.
