Blue Hour

Hökarängsbadet Sköndal Klockelund
Three blue hour photos from Klockelund at Lake Drevviken. I often stop here on my way to and from Stockholm. The top photo shows the beach known as Hökarängsbadet, usually packed during warm Summer days. Photographed from the boardwalk. Next, the first ever terrace house in Sweden, at Sköndal, also photographed from the boardwalk, well almost as I stepped down to the edge of the water for that shot. I took the third photo from the circular pier at Klockelundsvägen. Popular with swimmers, dog walkers and photographers. Lots of new apartments under construction here since more than three years. The first people have already moved in, so the lake, beach and boardwalk will be even more popular in the future.

The graffiti wall

Farstaväggen Farstaväggen Farstaväggen Graffiti panorama
I bike past this legal graffiti wall every time I ride to and from Stockholm, well almost every time, there are other options, but this is the main bike path that I use. It is just a few hundred meters after the beach at Hökarängsbadet where I often stop for photos, year round. And if I see something I like here I always stop for a photo.

Way Out Farsta

&nova
It is Summer. Which means that there are festivals everywhere. Big and small. Cycling home from a street party in Stockholm, I could hear music from a park in Farsta, so I pedaled that way. It was the second ever rock festival, Way Out Farsta. They took that name to poke fun at one of the largest festivals in Sweden. Way Out West in Gothenburg. This event was much smaller. On stage when I arrived was a three-piece band called &nova. A punk band. Lumi, Filippa and Joel. I did what my brother used to do at the annual rock festival in Tungelsta, I tried counting the crowd. Maybe three hundred people spread out on the green lawn and elsewhere in the park, eating and drinking. Listening to the young bands performing while the younger siblings were playing their games. A bit of fun for everyone.

Garfield and the Easter Bunny

Glad Påsk Garfield
Like I have said before, you have to be quick if you want to catch all the good graffiti at the Farsta wall. Here are two recent works. I photographed the Easter Bunny yesterday. It was painted on the side that you see from the bike path. And a few days earlier it was Garfield. He was on the other side that faces the soccer pitch.

Temporary Art

Temporary Art
Usually, the artworks at the legal graffiti wall Farstaväggen will be painted over in a matter of hours. This one survived for at least five days. I blame the Winter weather for that.

Temporary Streetart

Gorilla Dyre Ikaross Block
Two recent pieces seen at the legal graffiti wall, Farstaväggen. You can paint on both sides. I bike past here a few times every week, so when I see anything new and interesting, I stop for a few photos. These two were signed Gorilla Dyre and Ikaross Block.

Teletornet

Teletornet
The communication tower at Farsta is ninety meters high. It was constructed back in the 1960s for Televerket at the company's headquarters. Telia moved out from the area in 2016. Now Rikshem and Ikano are rebuilding the area to apartments, and they decided to tear down the old tower. A change from a previous statement when they promised to save the landmark tower, but I guess money talks. The work starts tomorrow, and will be finished by Christmas. The last explanation I saw said something like "the shadow from the tower makes it hard to build new apartments here". As I took the photo a man out walking stopped and said that it was a "helgerån"(sacrilege), tearing down the tower, and I agreed with him.

Dooo. Diii. Daaa. Booo. Baaa.

Dooo Diii Daaa Booo Baaa
I had to stop at the Farsta graffiti wall a while back when I noticed these paintings. If I had to guess, I would say that the artists behind these five artworks are a few years younger than the people that normally paints here.

Abstract Graffiti

Abstract Graffiti
On my bike rides to and from Stockholm, I always stop at the legal graffiti wall at Farsta. There is always something new to look at, as the street artists usually paint over a previous work done by someone else after just a few hours. So the works of art here are very short-lived. This one really caught my eye and I knew that I had to take a photo of it before it was too late, and it was gone the following day.

Clue

Clue
Now and then something catches my eye at the legal graffiti wall in Farsta. This piece looked kinda familiar, and I think it is possible that I have seen a work by this "graffer" before somewhere else.

Glowing Street Art

Glowing
I always stop for a look at the legal graffiti wall at Farsta. It is next to the bike path so it is not too difficult. I noticed this glowing painting last week. And it was a good thing that I stopped because cycling home later that day another artist was busy painting a new artwork over this one. That is always the case and I kinda like it like that as there's always something new to see.

Lake Magelungen

Boardwalk Farsta Strandbad Farsta Värdshus This way to the gym Clouds Farsta Sommaräng Old Barn Sjöstugan Cottage Stuvsta - Snättringe Rådjur A bit too modern
I took a walk at Lake Magelungen with one of the usual suspects. It was a great Summer day, 26C from a blueish sky. You will find yourself both in Stockholm and Huddinge during the walk. We walked from Ågesta Broväg along the boardwalk, past a beach and an old Inn, an outdoor gym and then continued over the old military bridge to Farstanäset where I decided to photograph a bunch of houses, new and old.
