Born, Greta Lovisa Gustafsson, in Stockholm 1905. Dead in 1990 at a hospital in New York. Buried at Skogskykogåden in 1999. Garbo's only relative, a niece, Gray Reisfield couldn't decide where the actress should be buried. She was afraid that someone might steal the urn. It was kept at a funeral home in New York until it was decided that Garbo's ashes should be buried at Skogskyrkogården. Greta Garbo

Never known she was swedish born.
She worked at an departement store in Stockholm, where ny mother also worked, although that was much later of course.
All I knew of her was she was an actress.
A quiet spot for her.
The sun was a bit of a problem here, might go back for another photo, as this really is a lovely spot at the cemetery. There's a stone path leading up to her headstone, and a bench just to the left where a couple were sitting after having a closer look at the Garbo grave. I took photos of all of it, but decided not to use them because of the problem with the strong light.

I'm so old. When I was a kid, all the local tv stations (1, later 2) showed old movies. And I saw Greta Garbo. Different, and beautiful. Looks like her ashes ended up in the right spot.
I didn't know until a few days ago that she was buried here, I hope she rests in peace.
