The coffee maker gave up. It was late in the evening and I really needed my coffee. Luckily for me, my brother was nearby. He quickly identified the problem, the thermal fuse had blown. So he removed the fuse and half an hour later I was sipping my coffee again.

Such a tiny component - yet so important.
I wouldn't have known that, but then I don't drink coffee either.
I have ordered a new machine just in case, the coffee doesn't get as warm now after the fix.
