Do you need a workout?

A tough workout here could make you exhausted. Or tired, even. Pun intended. The outdoor gym at the Rudan nature reserve in Handen earlier today. The -20C temperature from a few days ago has been replaced with thaw.

The Gym

A cold and windy day at the gym. If you use all the gym equipment found along the ring-road in Nynäshamn you would get a full workout. You can find them close to the water like this one, and also across the road up in the forest a bit more protected from the wind.

Outdoor Gym

The outdoor gym at the Rudan nature reserve a few days ago. This is a great spot for a workout, situated between the two lakes. And if you want to go for a run, or an MTB-ride or whatever Rudan is the place to do just that.

The Gym

Times change. This was a church building up until a few years ago, today it houses a fitness center called iFORM. I have to confess to staying away from both churches and gyms as much as I possibly can. You can find it along Allévägen in Tungelsta. Burning Calories

Fact. I have never ever worked out at a gym. Or tried jogging on a treadmill. This is the SATS gym in Handen. If you want to you could spend 1000 of those coins I showed you yesterday every month here. Well that was an exaggeration as they have a deal for only 999SEK per month.

Hitting The Gym

I met Kjell Åke at the Rudan nature reserve in Handen yesterday. It was a glorious day. Warm and sunny, although very windy. Kjell Åke was out jogging around the lakes and I pretty much forced him to try the brand new outdoor gym so that I could get a photo. The gym will not open officially until next Wednesday evening so chances are that Kjell Åke was the first one to use it, especially as one of the guys who took part in the construction of it had just left after taking a few mobile snaps of his work. We talked a bit about photography. Kjell Åke was a pretty active photographer back in the analogue day. He had a look at my Canon 6D and I could tell that he would like to take up photography again. We also talked about how silly some people can be, working out in an expensive indoor gym during the Summer months.

How to Have a Good Workout

Step one, set up an outdoor gym, free for everyone to use. Step two. Use it. This is the second outdoor gym that the municipality have built this year. This one stands at the Rudan nature reserve in handen, between the two lakes. You can find the other (very popular), gym at Hanveden, just a short jog away.

S.A.T.S

From a few days ago. It was a sunny day with blue skies, but these people preferred to jog indoors at the S.A.T.S gym in Handen.

New Year's Resolution?

I'm guessing that working out regularly at a gym is on many peoples New Year's Resolution list at the moment. My Tamron 70-300mm zoom lens found two of them today, in Handen at the S.A.T.S gym. Second photo is a three photo panorama.

The Weight Lifter

A man working out at the new S.A.T.S gym in Handen. It's located just 200 meters from the mall. So it's the perfect place for tired shoppers who needs a tough workout. The gym is fully equipped for all fitness freaks out there. With personal trainers, childcare and diet programs. Back in January I showed you a photo from here with two people on the treadmill.

A new place to spend your money at

Late last year the S.A.T.S gym, the Babyland store and a few other boutiques opened here in Handen at the intersection Gudöbroleden/ Dalarövägen. Built by Gotska.The construction started in late January of 2008. This is a zoomed out photo from yesterdays photo.

A Room With A View

On the treadmill. Modern day lunch promenade. Two people doing a cardio workout at the new S.A.T.S gym in Handen. You will never find me on one of those things. When I put one foot ahead of the other I expect to get somewhere, not look out a window. And the view isn't much to write home about either. They are staring down at the cars in the roundabout.
