I parked the bike at the bottom of the hill and took the stairs up to the top of Fåfängan for a look at the view. On the first photo, you can see the amusement park Gröna Lund, and also parts of the islet Beckholmen. On the second and third photos, you can spot parts of Skansen at Royal Djurgården, as well as the auxiliary ship HMS Trossö anchored at Beckholmen. Next, a ferry is heading for Djurgården with Strandvägen and Östermalm as a nice backdrop. On the fifth photo you can see another small islet, Kastellholmen, named after the castle on the top, where the Swedish flag tells us that Sweden is currently not at war, and I sure hope it stays that way. And on the sixth and final photo of the day we can again see Gröna Lund, Beckholmen and a big chunk of Stockholm in the background, including that circular tower I showed you a while back. The name Fåfängan comes from a gazebo that the then owner had constructed there back in the 1770s. Today, there's a popular restaurant/café up here.

I found the flag in photo 5, but as it was unfurled, could not tell if it were the usual Swedish flag. So the flag flies there only when the country is not at war? Or did I just not understand. ?
