The King's Torch

Kungsljus
Found a bit of color during my visit to the beach. This plant is called Kungsljus. Back in the day people dipped the stalks of this herb in tar or pitch and used it as a torch, hence the name which translates to The King's Torch. You can also make tea from it. If you want to know more about this plant there's lots of fact at Wikipedia.

Goodness I can't even imagine this lovely flower being dipped in tar and used as a torch, fascinating.. again the perfect bokeh Steffe.

I hate to think of torching these beauties. But it's an interesting history nonetheless.

When I saw the title of the post I thought you were going to do something about Elvis. This looks better.

En riktigt snygg macrobild med skärpa och schyssta färger. Den får mig att längta efter denna typ av fotografering, det var ett tag sedan jag var ute med kameran på jakt efter denna typ av motiv.

Looking at this photo makes me happy! But then, yellow is a favorite of mine.
Thank you, Stefan.
