Snake Road
The warm Autumn weather continues. Although it rains too much for my liking. New temperature record yesterday. Warmest Autumn day since they started measuring some 155 years ago. So it wasn't all that surprising that I found this viper relaxing on the warm bike path asphalt in Handen. It posed for a few photos before it used that cool serpentine method and disappeared into the grass.

Excellent shot! I assume you kept you distance.
You're a brave lad. I'd detour.
Great capture, Stefan, I suppose you had looong lenses.
Vilken fin ormbild!
Jag har funderat mer än en gång de senaste veckorna om ormarna verkligen gått i ide eller om de fortfarande ringlar omkring. Nu vet jag.
No Andy and Karl, I shot it with the pancake lens. I hunched down on the bike path and moved slowly closer and closer. I didn't want to scare it away.
I might do it for a garter snake but not for a viper.
Wow! Formidable critter. And he's looking right at you.
Wow - you would expect it to be hibernating by now. It's wonderful to have warm weather at this time of year since it makes winter a bit shorter!
Well, Steffe, I can definitely say that this is a photo that I would not get close enough to take!
Vipers in Sweden? I would never have guessed. Hope you had a good long lens.
It's warm here as well but so far no vipers seen in the road (darn it). That's a fantastic shot.
You need a powerful zoom lens to engage a beast like this!
wow, excellent picture !
