I obviously don't believe in Astrology, but once in a blue moon I will take a photo of said satellite. Three years ago I did shoot a red moon during the Lunar Eclipse. Actual blue moons does really happen. When it does, it is because of dust in the atmosphere, like after the Krakatoa eruption back in 1883 when the moon looked blue for two years.

A full moon throws out a lot of light. A challenge I have difficulty with is photographing the moon with anything else in the photo. To take a longer exposure to get a mountain or other subject to be visible at night causes the moon to be an over-exposed ball of light, without features.
Not that cold, just below freezing I think. I noticed the moonlight and opened a window on the second floor and shot a few quick snaps without a tripod.
That looks almost exactly like our blue moon. Can't say I see any difference. Nice shot. Impressive optics.

A very good shot, I never get anything good... shooting the moon.
Someday when I get a bigger camera lens and become a better photographer, I too will take a fantastic MOON shot like that! Nice one, Steffe Meister
