Double Trouble

On Track

Derailed Locomotive

As we are honouring Eric Tenin at Paris Daily Photo today I set out a take a photo in his style. As suggested by Kim in Seattle. And this is it. And it's a bit of a fun story here. I shot the top photo at Håga earlier today. The locomotive from Green Cargo had stopped at the pedestrian crossing because of trouble with ice and snow on the track. The driver could be seen and heard swearing further down the track. The second photo shows the same locomotive in Jordbro two days earlier where it had derailed!

Winter Chaos

Say What?

Winter is here. We had the first snow overnight. Here is the result. Unhappy commuters. This was the scene earlier this morning at the Tungelsta commuter station. The commuters were told that there were no trains between Nynäshamn and Västerhaninge because of the weather. So these people had to walk back to the bus stop and wait for the delayed bus...

Steam Train Heading Home

Steam Train at Krigslida

The steam train at Krigslida. Bigger photo. Over the weekend the train from the Museum in Nynäshamn has been travelling back and forth between Nynäshamn and Stockholm on the railway line Nynäsbanan. Today I caught up with the train at krigslida. More photos from the last three years in my flickr set.

End of the line

End of the line

At the new quarry

A train at the marshalling yard at the industrial park in Jordbro. There's a new quarry not far from here and my guess is that that's where this train is heading.
The new quarry, only a few hundred meters from Lake Rudan, my favorite recreational area with beaches, a big forest with mountain bike paths, and much more. I will show you more from Lake Rudan tomorrow, but I do have many shots from this lake in a flickr set.
