The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Down the yellow brick road
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz They were making their way down the yellow brick road yesterday. It was The Scarecrow. The Cowardly Lion, and the Tin Woodman. I decided to follow them, and a little bit later I spotted Dorothy and her friends. They were performing a few songs from their version of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. If you want to see the show, there's still time. More info in Swedish at Rojteaterns web site.

Scenes From The Theatre

Scenes From The Theatre

The Snake Theatre

Bang Bang You're Dead!

While visiting Rudan a while back I noticed a few people working at the theatre barn. You can see the entrance on the second photo. The theatre group Ormteatern (The Snake Theatre), has been around for thirty years. I saw one of their first plays as a school kid in Jordbro (the founder Ulf Oldberg was married to my school teacher). On this recent visit I got a short guided tour by one of the members, I think it was Adam (second photo in the collage). For some odd reason I didn't think to ask his name. The other photos in the collage shows the theatre seats where my buddy Jim is sitting, the dressing room, the office, and a few other places in the old barn. At the moment you can see Bang Bang You're Dead there. Jenny Linder and Emilie Lindström from the theatre group has written a Swedish version of William Mastrosimones text. If you live in the area and feel like going to the theatre follow this link to book your tickets.

Åsa-Nisse the mjosikal

The Castle

I visited Årsta Castle yesterday. It's situated close to the sea, just a kilometre from my favorite beach. Over the summer there's a play here. Not Shakespeare as they do at Häringe Castle a few klicks from here, but Åsa-Nisse the mjosikal (yes' that's how it's spelled). If you don't know Åsa-Nisse check out the wikipedia article. The play also have a website. If you are interested the ticket is 275 SEK. The premiere is tonight.

The Snake Theatre

The Snake Theatre

The entrance to the theatre barn Orm-Teatern. Or The Snake Theatre, at Lake Rudan in Handen. The theatre has been around since the late seventies. If I remember correctly the company was started by the writer Ulf Oldberg and his wife, Britt Inger Oldberg (my communist school teacher for three years). No idea if they are still involved. Zoom out.
