In Camouflage

Gurkspindel
This is a Gurkspindel,(Araniella cucurbitina). Cucumber green spider. It is 4 to 6 millimeter long. I noticed it in the web as I was out shooting photos of ladybugs (see yesterdays post).

Jump around!

Spider on the wall
Another fine sign of things to come, (spring). A zebra spider out walking in the sunshine. This jumping spider has eight eyes so it saw me coming like a mile away. Or at least one meter. I was enjoying a mug of coffee in the spring winter sunshine when Jack joined me on the stairs at Bergdalen.

In the Spider's Web

In the Spider's Web I was out walking in the birch forest at Välsta earlier this week. It is a nice place for a stroll. No one around but me and this spider.

The Porch Cleaner

The Spider

There's a hard working spider on the porch here at Bergdalen. It is doing it's best to keep the veranda free from flies and other insects.

The Cucumber Spider

Cucumber spider

Theme Day. The color green. On the bike I suddenly noticed something green on one of my fingers. It was a cucumber spider. It turned out to be a very lazy spider because it stayed with me for a few kilometres!

Houseguest

I normally shower alone

If you live in a house somewhere in Sweden, or Europe, you will probably be familiar with this spider. It's known as the Big House Spider over here. This is a female. It's one of the biggest spiders in Central Europe. I found this one in the shower. They can live to be six years old. The female only leaves the nest to feed, and they don't like humans, so they are easily scared. I thought I should tell you that if you suffer from arachnophobia.

Macro Setting

Spideriffic

Summer arrived to Tungelsta today. At least if you ask me. We had 20 C. A bit windy, but with a blue sky and fluffy clouds. For normal people with a garden that means that it's time to get out the lawn mover. For me it means that it's time to start using the macro setting on the camera. I spent an hour walking around shooting bugs, flowers and spiders. Bigger photo. Or have a look at the same view with the normal setting.

A European Garden Spider

A European Garden Spider

A European Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus) or Korsspindel in the center of it's web at Blomorado in Tungelsta. Another warm and sunny day here. I thought about hitting the beach but in the end I decided to stay home. Went down to the greenhouses with a camera and found this "little" spider.
