Mirror Mirror

Mirror Image
Out walking again. It started to snow just as I left the house. No plowed roads or sidewalks on this day so it was a good workout. Had to be careful with the traffic on the snowy roads. This is a traffic mirror along Skogs-Ekebyvägen. I will show you a few snowstorm photos tomorrow.

Anyone for candy?

Candy Store Selfie Cloetta Candy Chokladfabriken
There are two things to see in Ljungsbro. The aqueduct, (see yesterdays post), and the chocolate factory Cloetta. The factory in Ljungsbro dates back to 1901. That's when the Swiss brothers opened their factory. I snapped these three photos during my visit there yesterday.

Winter selfie

Seasonal Update: Winter
Once in a while I will take a selfie in this traffic mirror at the commuter station in Tungelsta. This photo dates back a few days but it looks exactly the same today.

As seen in the mirror

As seen in the mirror
Shot this during my Winter promenade on Wednesday when it snowed for a couple of hours. This is a road in Tungelsta that dates back hundreds of years. It is called Skogsekebyvägen. Along it you will find a runestone from the Viking Era.

Winter Mirror

Weather Update
I try to shoot a photo of this traffic mirror at the Tungelsta commuter station every season, so here is this Winter's photo. The trains always meet here. One is heading to the port city Nynäshamn and the other to Stockholm.

Weather Update

Weather Update
Grey skies. Rain. Cold. The little snow we got a while back is long gone. This was the scene at the commuter station in Tungelsta earlier today.

Can you dig it?

Mirror
Stopped at the cafe for coffee and a chat with the usual suspects. Asked one of them, Jim, if we should check out the latest exhibition at the Cultural Centre. As the art wasn't much to write home about we took a short walk in the area, checking out the atrium of a newish apartment building, that's the white building to the right. The atrium was snow filled so we walked down the stairs and found a digger. Finally something worth shooting! The background for this mirror photo is City Hall.

Still Winter

Winter Mirror
Every now and then I will stop for a photo of the traffic mirror at the Tungelsta commuter station. This was one of those days. Still winter which isn't much of a surprise.

January VS. November

January VS. November

Sometimes when I go for a photo promenade around Tungelsta I will take the first photo at the commuter station. One reason is just to get going. I will often photograph the same places and buildings over and over as you all know. This is the traffic mirror at the station. I shot the winter half yesterday and the autumn photo in November last year. I wear the same outfit on both photos but have added the beanie because of the recent cold spell.

The Old Stationhouse

The Old Stationhouse

Another look at the Tungelsta Station House, along the Nynäsbanan railway line. It's been there since 1901. The architect was the famous Ferdinand Boberg. Back then the trip from Nynäshamn to Stockholm took two hours with the steam train. These days it takes one hour with the commuter. Today there's a handicraft boutique in the beautiful old building, but the former train dispatcher still lives on the second floor.

Sudden Change in the Weather

Winter Mirror

Winter Bikes

Ditched

Winter has arrived. Just like that. At least for some people. The meteorologists had been warning for the snow fall for at least one week. Did that help? Not one bit. Everyone seemed very surprised and chaos has been a good word to use the last few days with accidents on and off the roads. On the top photo you can see me shooting a self portrait in a traffic mirror at the Tungelsta commuter station. Second photo shows snowed in bikes at the station, and the last photo shows an abandoned car in a ditch, also in Tungelsta.

Mirror mirror...

Traffic Mirror Me

The strange weather continues. 7C today. And a gray sky. It's been raining all day. If you look closely in the background you will see the entrance to the Mosque in Handen. There are somewhere between 100,000 and 400,000 Muslims living in Sweden. If you would like to see a photo of the beautiful Stockholm Mosque on Södermalm click here. Or HERE to see the Handen Mosque through the other traffic mirror (from April 2006).
