German cartographer Heinrich Neuhaus came to Stockholm in the 1850s. Twenty years later he was working on a panorama map over the city. He visited thousands of backyards to get a clearer view of how the city looked. He also used photographs and an older map. The work took several years. It was ready for printing in December 1875. All but three maps were then sadly lost in a fire. This is a copy of one of those maps and it can be found on a wall at Urvädersgränd on Södermalm in Stockholm.

A lot of finesse required to do that painting
