Last year, construction of the new bicycle bridge at Slussen was stopped just days before it was supposed to start. It will connect Södermalm to the Old Town. The plans for the new bridge dates back more than ten years, so everyone knew it was going to happen. But then the objections came, saying that it would not be safe to run the metro trains, (in the photo here), here during the construction work. So the planned work stopped. And in just one year's time a new bridge, way worse, was designed. Corners were cut and next week work on the new bridge will begin.
