The bonfire that never was

The bonfire that never was
Last year it was the strong winds that caused a few problems with the bonfires during Walpurgis Night. This year it was the very dry weather. There has been fires burning uncontrolled all over the country in the last few weeks. This was supposed to be the bonfire at Stav in Tungelsta, but in the end everyone agreed to burn a smaller bonfire just to the left of the real bonfire. So this was how the bonfire that never was looked yesterday.

We've had a lot of problems with moorland fires recently, due to the dry weather. But now it's wet again. Hopefully someone will decide to burn that bonfire or clear it away before you have strong winds!

Rain, snow and cold weather since I posted this photo. Spring is on hold as it looks.

I like the texture of all the thin branches together. Great subject with lots of potential.
