"Closed Between Bird Cherry and Lilac". A saying first uttered, or written down by a cordwainer that closed shop this time of the year many moons ago. It is a period of about two weeks in the middle of May when everything blooms. It is many peoples favorite time of the year in this country, me included. I found this bench along a historical promenade with info about "Old Årsta" close to Årsta slott in rural Österhaninge

We are heading into that time here too!
The flowers are beautiful but the bench looks very hard. We can't count on a period like that, situated as we are between the cold Canadian plains and the warm Gulf as Mexico,
Hard it was Bob. But good enough for the two or three minutes I was sitting there.
A wonderful expression, "between bird cherry and lilac." There are some precious weeks in spring, for those of us who live places in four seasons, if we are lucky, Thank you.
And your next day's photos are lovely.
It is wonderful when the flowers and flowering shrubs burst into life in May. I am happy to be back in New England this year to see it for myself again.
