Blood Moon

Blood Moon
I decided to walk up to the observation tower at Tornberget on Friday evening to watch the blood moon. It's a 30 min trek through the forest. Thinking I was late I upped the pace and as it was 25C I was sweating profusely when I arrived to the tower. We were maybe 20-25 people there. And around 500 winged ants that took a big liking to me. When the moon was ready to rise we saw absolutely nothing because of the mist. Instead we looked at each others photos from the tower and I showed a few people my blood moon snap from 2007. Then all of a sudden it was getting dark and most people decided to leave. I managed to get lost in the dark within a few hundred meters from the tower. After twenty minutes or so I found my way back to the tower where I met a family that were going my way, so it's all thanks to them that I managed to find my way home! And then, there it was, the blood moon, visible between the trees for a few minutes. I had to shoot hand-held using a very high ISO, so the photo wasn't much to write home about but it still counts!

What an adventure that turned out for you. No moon visible here due to rain but we did have a streetlight to see. :)

Patience was rewarded. Or getting lost

Well, at least you got it. There were significant clouds here so I got zip. Reminds me of going to Mt Fuji and it was totally obscured in clouds. Then after leaving on the (moving) tour bus, many kilometers away, the clouds cleared and I got the less than perfect shot. But as you say, it was something.

Quite an adventure! The things we do for our art. It was way too cloudy here to see a thing.
