Yellow iris
This gray heron was standing on one of the piers at Lower Lake Rudan (Nedre Rudasjön), minding it's own business when I arrived to the nature reserve a while back. It didn't seem to bothered as I closed in, but when I came a little too close it stepped off the pier and into the lake so that I would get a good photo of it. Which was nice.

You did a great job again Stefan. It is always a pleasure to visit your blog. ;-)

The close up shot is superb
I wish the cranes we see here had the same idea. Ours stay well away.
Great captures! We get the blue and some green herons here, but not this kind.
Bra!
Wonderful shots, Steffe!
Wow! Super sharp shot of this obliging fellow Steffe, nice work!
That heron head is very good.
