It started to snow just now. It is the first sign of the storm that is slowly approaching. The storm has been named Sven.

Must be quite a sight to look out of your window to see snow silently falling, but I'm guessing not so good when Sven arrives in full force :)

We might get some freezing rain and snow by Friday.i am not looking forward to it.
It must be a big storm if it has a name!
Naming hurricanes and typhoons is typical, but I have never heard of a snow storm having a name.
Now that is the visual definition of winter. I like the name Sven. It was the name of the mechanic who worked on my 1986 Saab when I lived in the States.
Normally we don't name storms here, we use the name given to them by the Norwegians! But starting this year it seems they are given a Swedish name. Typically it will be the name day.
