I am a horse

I am a horse

Spotted this horse on my way to the old tree yesterday. It was standing at a pasture at Mulsta. It looks a bit different. My long time flickr friend emdot figured "prolly something that dr. seuss made up!"

Now, that's a horse of a different stripe. What a remarkable capture. It does have a Dr. Seuss sort of look to it, doesn't it.

Nice! I don't think he is happy with that haircut.

I've not much experience with horses, but he looks quite a bit different from others I've seen. But, he does look appropriately attired for life in a northern climate; or maybe he escaped from the Lord of the Rings territory.

He is as magical as the snowmen the other week. A Polar Express pony posing his new haircut!

What a haircut indeed. He is really wonderful and well protected against the cold!

It looks like a North Swedish horse that I saw in Germany 20 years ago. I'm amazed that I remembered the horse, when I can't remember my friends names.

He/she's lovely - I'll show my daughter she's horse mad :-)

Are you sure that's a horse? It's cute, but looks quite different than most horses. Must be a Swedish horse...I've got some red wooden Swedish horses that look similar.

Great shot, Steffe!

He has been partially shaved, that is for sure. Makes him look funny. He is supposed to have a thick coat so maybe he was shaved for medical reasons.

What a cute little guy! Hope that coat is keeping him warm.

Hello!
Meet Furda! She´s an icelandic horse, that lives on Mulsta Farm.
The haircut is made so she won´t swet too much when she´s in training. A very commin thing to do in the winter.
She´s actually enjoying the cut :)

Wow, imagine sweating too much in the cold - what is she being trained for, I wonder?

To me it looks like an Icelandic horse....
Anyway, it is a nice horse and different to the average one.

Wonderful capture Steffe. One day she'll grace the cover of some horse hair stylist magazine.

Furda is being trained in her gaits. Icelandic horses are gaited horses (like Tennesee Walking Horses or the Saddlebred)and are trained for competition and showing.

Thanks for dropping by and explaining that Malin.
