Kristineberg from Fredhällsparken

I always carry something to eat with me on my long bike rides. That is probably a little unusual in this day and age when you can buy food to go everywhere, but that is how I prefer to do it. And I am yet to order a coffee to go in my life! Anywho, here are five photos taken at a park at Kungsholmen in Stockholm a while back. The park is located at Fredhäll and is therefore called Fredhällsparken. I ate my snack sitting on a park bench while listening to two guys chatting away at the tennis court behind me. After my pause, I walked over the green lawn to take these photos. They show a number of new apartment buildings on the other side of the busy Drottningsholmsvägen. Situated next to the Kristineberg palace, and metro station. They were built on a property where there used to be a rather ugly hotel that was built in the late 1940s.

Cyclists & escooter riders

We had two really warm April days this week. At least for this cold Spring. The temperature reached 15C. Sitting on the bike, I began to feel warm, as I am usually dressed for colder weather. So I had to stop twice to remove garments, and that gave me an idea for a new photo project. So I parked the bike at the statue of Gustav III across the street from the Royal Palace in the Old Town and began taking panning photos of passing cyclists and the odd e-scooter rider. These are most of the snaps from the first day of shooting. To not overcomplicate things, I shot using Auto ISO at 1/100th of a second.

The definitive proof of spring

Two days this week with real warm weather. It was 15C when I decided to cycle through the Iron Age grave field in Jordbro to look for a special sign of Spring. The liverwort. Or, blåsippa in Swedish. The only problem was that I didn't have my macro lens with me, so I had to shoot with the 24mm lens.

People and architecture

Three photos taken on a sunny Spring day in the Stockholm City Hall garden. The famous building where every year the Nobel Prizes are awarded to scientists and authors was designed by Ragnar Östberg. It is always worth a visit.

Haymarket

A second bunch of street photos from the weekly flea market at Hötorget. It was a typical April day. Only 5C from a very gray sky when I jumped on the bike. A few hours later, cycling home, it started to rain. But then 5 km from home it cleared up and when I ate a late lunch on the veranda it was 13C from a clear blue sky, so this was the day when the real Spring arrived.

A first bunch of photos from the weekly flea market at Hötorget in Stockholm. I recognice quite a few people here these days. The photographer in the top photo were in a heated discussion with one of the vendors who didnt want his photo taken. That is always funny, and the photographer didnt seem to bothered. Who are you, even he told the guy. Yours truly in the mirror in the second shot, because why not. The man in the third photo looked like he was pondering about buying some more CDs.The woman in yellow have been here before. The vendor in the fifth photo was price adjusting.There are always a few interesting paintings to look at. There could be a second bunch of photos tomorrow.
