Summer vs.Summer

Summer vs. Summer

Time for another Different Seasons diptych. Two years separate these two photos that show the winding dirt road that leads down to the Stadsberga village in rural Haninge. I shot the left part of the diptych in late July of 2009. The photo to the right is from this past weekend. On a fun note, as I took that photo a cyclist came towards me. He stopped, and we started to talk about how much fun it is to ride your bike on these old roads. Ten minutes later we were having coffee (me), and a hot dog (the former postman), at one of the four golf clubs in this area. He knew practically every road around here and told me about a shortcut that I will have to try sometime this summer.

It is always good luck to befriend a postman.

That's a really interesting idea. The time of day when the two pictures were taken would make a difference, as would the kind of camera you used and its settings.

j'aime bien tes photos comparatives, pour avoir la photo ideale il faudrait mettre les nuages de la premiere photo sur la deuxieme

Great contrast. Haninge sounds such a friendly place! Hope your enjoying summer we are having our first real taste of winter here but of course it is never like yours. Tomorrow it will only be 16, cold for us!

I agree with Mark. I think tomorrow down here will be 15C which is unbearable. Stop laughing now, Steffe. I have always wanted to do the four season set up that you have, but considered our seasons were not different enough. How wrong could I be. Shall try an experiment tomorrow!

I see the yellowish green aren't peculiar of our summers! Now I am going for a coffee, but I'd like a hot dog too (not so easy to find here).

Very true Bob.

That's the spirit Julie. I know from experience with the old tree that any scene outdoor scene will change from day to day.

I tried that Olivier, but I couldn't get the barn together correctly so I switched the photo around.

So far the summer has been all sunshine, but the temperature dropped a bit overnight and we are expecting rain and a possible thunderstorm today.

Your hobby/profession allows you to meet people in a way that most people can't. I think it's a great ice-breaker.

Another wonderful comparison. The two sides look very different even though just a month apart.

Like that contrast, like to see the difference in the light.
