January Sunset

We had a blue sky yesterday. So I knew that the sunset could be a colorful one, and it was.

Solpelare

Still feeling weak after eating something I shouldn't have two days ago. But I did manage to go out for a short walk just as the sun was setting a few minutes ago, and managed to photograph this "Solpelare" up on the hill here at Bergdalen in Tungelsta.

My Sunday

I looked at the thermometer as I walked down the stairs to prepare my breakfast. It read -6C. Normally I don't think that is too cold for a Winter promenade, but I did yesterday. So when a ski race got under way on TV I stood ready on my trekkrunner and as the skiers made their way around the ice-cold course over in Finland I took an indoor promenade! Not much fun, but I needed the exercise. I also watched some biathlon because why not. After lunch, I read a few chapters in the latest Stephen King novel, Holly. And then at 1500 hours it was time for the sunset. I am not a fan of early sunsets, but there's not really much you can do about it, so I took this photo. After an early dinner, I watched some alpine skiing from the US, followed by an episode of Who Shot Otto Mueller? Oh, and I also uploaded a bunch of portraits of pretty girls to Flickr as I will often look through my Canon archives when I have nothing better to do.

This was the sunset yesterday afternoon. Shot from home. We were expecting a snow storm overnight, but so far it has hit the island of Gotland, and parts of Northern Stockholm. So no new snow at my place, but it was a windy night and there were quite a few broken tree branches in the back garden. As I am typing this it is very calm, but cold, around -7C.

Cycling home yesterday afternoon, the sky turned into a photo opportunity, so I stopped for a photo at Lillgården in Tungelsta.

A Winter Sunset

Cycling home earlier in the week I stopped for a photo of the colorful sunset at the new row-houses at Lillgården in Tungelsta. I had the 60mm lens on the Canon 77D body, so I had to shoot it as a panorama. This is twelve photos stitched together.

First sunset of the decade

The new decade started with a colorful sunset. Snapped this from the hill at home. The tree in the photo is 98 years old. Planted by my grandfather back in 1922 on this 20th birthday.

This was the sunset a few minutes ago. Quite colorful.

Sunset From The Observation Tower

Together with two friends from my favorite cafe, Hasse and Jujja it was time for another hike to the new observation tower at Tornberget. This time to watch the sunset. It was another hot Summer day, but it had cooled down a bit as we made our way through the forest just after nine in the evening. It's a 25 minute walk to the new tower. No clouds in the sky so it wasn't the most colorful of sunsets, but it was still a memorable evening. After coffee and cake on the hill we walked up to the top of the tower and used camera and binoculars to check out the impressive view. On the first photo you can see a few familiar buildings from Handen, places that I have showed you a number of times, including the new high-rise Brf Blicken and the two newly renovated water towers.

Crepuscular ray

A recent sunset photographed from home. I noticed the ray, ran for the camera, snapped a few photos and then it was gone, obviously someone must have been beamed up.

The good news is that we can forget about November. The bad news is that we still have to battle with the cold and dark month of December. This was the colorful sunset this afternoon.

Sunset Reflections

Another November sunset. The Water Towers in Handen changes color all the time because of the new design made by the HMXW-architects. Biking home this afternoon the colorful sky made me stop on the Jordbro bridge for a sunset snap.

Power Plant at Sunset

The Biofuel Power Plant in Jordbro during sunset yesterday. And this is also the answer to that logo question I asked you about back in December. It was the logo of Vattenfall who owns the power plant.

Towers During Sunset

You have seen them before, and chances are you will see them again. The Water Towers in Handen. Because of the intuitive design they will always look different. This was the scene one december afternoon not too long ago during a colorful sunset.

A Colorful Sunset

It's nice when you can shoot a photo or two without leaving the house. I took this snap from the veranda a few days ago. I guess the colorful sunsets is one good thing this time of the year.
