The Mosaic Wall

Watering the plants Kickboxer Kids today Strolling Power Walking Cyclist The Gymnast Wall Climber Watering the plants
This is a fun mosaic. Made last year by Remakebolaget and Helen Rydberg. It is called På väg(g). A word pun that means on the way, and on the wall. There used to be a very windy bus depot above this concrete wall near the commuter station in Handen. It has now been replaced with an underground version, but the old wall is still there. There are ten smaller mosaics here, and two bigger flower pot mosaics, one at each end. I spent a few minutes there last week, photographing all of them. Around 70 locals took part in the creation of the mosaic, and some of them modelled for it. I missed the opening last year, but if I remember correctly the former PM Fredrik Reinfeldt, who used to live in the area, was there for the ceremony.

Two Silver Medalists

Charlotte Kalla Silver Medalist
It is a patriotic post today. Charlotte Kalla and Marcus Hellner both won silver in the skiathlon event at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Congrats! I made the mosaic with a software called Foto-Mosaik-Edda, using photos from my 2013 Canon archives. All photos taken in Haninge.

Gold & Bronze

Marcus Hellner

Sweden won two medals in the men's 30 km pursuit race, also called the skiathlon, at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver yesterday. Marcus Hellner won the Gold, and Johan Olsson took the Bronze, after one of the most exciting ski races I have ever seen. It was perfect team work in a individual race that landed Sweden two medals. At one time Olsson led by thirty seconds and further back Hellner and Södergren did their best to slow down the rest of the field. It really was an amazing win.

The Winter Chair (and a bonus mosaic)

The Winter Chair

The long and cold winter continues. In my latest photo project I return every now and then to a chair that stands on a lawn near a swimming pool in Tungelsta. This is my fourth visit this winter.

The Olympic Champion

And continuing on my new series with Swedish Gold Medal winners from the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, this is Björn Ferry. His win yesterday in the Men's 12.5 km pursuit will go down in the history books as one of the biggest surprises ever. I can guarantee that it will win him this years Bragdguld. Ferry started the race in eight place, more than one minute behind the winner from the sprint competition. The Austrian Christoph Sumann took silver and Frenchman Vincent Jay won the bronze medal.

The Olympic Champion

Olympic Gold Medalist

Charlotte Kalla screaming of joy after winning the women's 10K cross-country race at the Vancouver Olympics on Tuesday. The winning time was 24.58,4. Heja Sverige! It was her first Olympic race. Not a bad start! Anna Haag, finished in fourth place, in her Olympic debut. All photos in this mosaic are from Haninge and I shot these during a few weeks last year.

Spaceman!

Spaceman

Todays photo is a bit different. It's a photo mosaic made from pictures from my Canon Library. All photos taken by me of course. A few thousand of them can be found at my flickr site. This is swedens first astronaut. His name is Christer Fuglesang. Later today he is going out on his first spacewalk, how cool is that? If you follow this link you can look at the mosaic in the original size and see how it was made. There are many good mosaic programs. If you want to test one, I can recommend Andrea Mosaic.

Benny The Boxer Mosaic

Benny The Boxer Mosaic

It was another warm day yesterday. Took a few Benny shots. Benny belongs to my neighbours, and I take lots of photos of him (and some of the neighbours as well). I had a computer crash last week. Now,the new computer is up and running. I have installed a few mosaic programs. It took a few hours for those programs to go through my Canon Library (15 000 photos). But here is the first mosaic made on the new computer.

The World Cup is over. Italy won on penalties against France. Zidane went insane and headbutted Marco Materazzi and was given the red card. This photo is made by photos from my Canon Library. Most of them taken in and around Haninge.
