Not how I would do it...

Not how I would do it...
... but who ever said that snow shovelling was easy. As seen at the commuter station in Tungelsta yesterday.

Winter Parking

Winter Parking
New parking area at the commuter station in Tungelsta. In the background the new retirement home at Lillgården. We have enough snow for a real Winter now. -3C when i took some Winter snaps earlier today. Lots of people out ploughing snow with is a good workout if you don't do it from a tractor.

Snö

Snö
I could also have called this masterpiece 'snow on an old aluminium ladder' but I choose not to do that. The weatherman was correct. He predicted snow today, and sure enough, it started to snow two hours ago.

Rose hip

Rose hip
Still waiting for the real Winter to arrive. Shot this last week on my way to the old tree. It's been another gray day with the wind picking up and if the prognosis is correct it's time to find that snow shovel tomorrow. And on another issue I can't comment at some of the other blogger blogs. Tried three times at Grace's blog today and at Williams blog the other day.

Frosty Tree

Frosty Tree
A different take on the old tree. Looks good from all sides in this weather. I'm out of new material now so I will have to find something new to photograph tomorrow. The lousy Winter weather continues. The temperature hovers around freezing and the sky is gray. The weatherman talked about a snow fall covering the whole county come Tuesday. I guess we will just have to wait and see about that.

Winter Scene

Winter Scene
A photo from my recent visit to the old tree. It was a cold morning with lots of frost and mist, but we have no snow whatsoever although this sure looks like a real Winter photo.

That Old Tree

That Old Tree
The first visit to the old tree this year was a cold and foggy affair. I took the bike and I wore a balaclava against the cold, that combined with my eyeglasses made for very foggy glasses and I had to stop a couple of times as the visibility was minimal.

Frosty Fence

Frosty Fence
Cold and frosty today. And extremely foggy. You could hardly see anything, but I did manage to get a few photos, despite my fingers freezing to ice within seconds as I had to take off my gloves to get the camera working. This is a fence on the bridge crossing the railway at the Tungelsta commuter station.

Color Splash

Color Splash
Tricky to find anything colorful to photograph this time of the year. Gray skies and rain most of the time. You might recognize this, it's a new living area currently under construction at Lillgården in Tungelsta that I try to document every now and then.

Spegelbild
Not much ice on the Lower Lake at the Rudan nature reserve this Winter. In the background a crane used for the construction of the new buildings at Haningeterrassen, including the 18-storey high-rise apartment building Brf Blicken. Shot with the new Canon zoom lens, this is nine photos stitched together.

Rudans Gård

Rudans Gård
The old farm house at Rudan. The area is today a nature reserve, the house sits between the two lakes, and if you walk in there today you will find the people that run the local fishing club.

Lakeside Living

Lakeside living
It was 5C and no wind as I made my way to the Rudan nature reserve on the first bike ride of the new year. Noticed a few people fishing from the piers at the lower lake. One guy was busy stretching at the outdoor gym, other than that nothing much happened. This is a view over the Upper lake and the tiny beach.

Gubben

Gubben
This is "Gubben". He is made of wood. He spends his days standing on a shelf at Bergdalen, where he has lived all his life. My dad carved him into life from dried wood sometime back in the 1940s. Gubben doesn't get around much, he is a lazy old fart, but I have asked him to tag along on my bike rides around Haninge this year, so maybe that is about to change now.
