The Black Sheep

The Black Sheep
There's a new black sheep at the Nödesta farm. And it turns out that it is a very sociable sheep. I only had time to jump off the bike and take two photos before it ran towards me as happy as I have ever seen a sheep. Unfortunately my camera malfunctioned mid-shoot so I only got a couple of snaps. Luckily for me it is close to home so I will be sure to drop in again for more photos of the black sheep Bää.

The Magnificent Tree

Baa! The Magnificent Tree
Two photos of the magnificent tree. Taken just a few days apart. The tree used to stand next to a two Century old barn at the Nödesta farm, but a lot of snow and neglect helped that barn to collapse a few cold Winters ago.

Ewe & Lamb

Ewe & Lamb There's a grassy slope at Glasbergavägen in Lida where this time of the year you can often see a group of sheep. And that is exactly what I saw the other day.

Under the Shade of the Tree

The Magnificent Tree

Lambs relaxing under the shade of the tree at the 700 year old Nödesta farm. And what a magnificent tree it is. The lambs are only six weeks old. They live in the barn to the right, and belong to Karin, the dog trainer who you have meet here before. Last time I met her she was training her sheep dog and that was the day the lambs were born. On that day I promised not to tell anyone about the lambs, as it would have attracted a lot of people to the barn. But now they have been out and running for a couple of weeks. I've been meaning to take a photo of this tree for a while now, and on this visit it really was as green as it can get. It was a tricky shoot. It's a big tree, and I stood below a small hill. And this is actually two photos stitched together which is impossible to see. I have yet to identify this tree. At first I thought it was a goat willow, but one of my flickr contacts who is the new Tree Warden at Etchingham thought that it might be a Sycamore.

Cheap Lunch For the Sheep

Cheap Lunch For the Sheep

I didn't take many photos yesterday. It was dark, gloomy and rainy, and today was even worse and I havnt touched the camera today so here's one of the few shots I took yesterday. Lunch at the sheep pasture. The sheep belong to Karin Mörling who I met earlier this year for a chat and a photo.

The Sheared Sheep

The Sheared Sheep

A while back I posted a photo of the dog trainer Karin Mörling. On that day I took some photos of her sheep but they were not very good. So as I passed by Nedersta today I stopped for a few photos. This is one of her sheep. It's a black-faced Suffolk sheep.

Baaaaaa!

Baaaaaa!

Meet 07122. As I came down Stabergs Road in Nedersta the other day, I noticed the sheep for the first time this year. They belong to Karin Mörling. You can often see the Border Collie Ned herding the sheep. The sheep live across the road in the old barn (and at the pasture there), but sometimes they spend some time here. To see the rest of my blog posts (and a video!), about sheep press here.

Bigger photo.

A lazy day at the pasture

A lazy day at the pasture

One way to spend a warm summer's day. Sheep at the Nödesta farm gathering at a big stone in the pasture. There are a few trees here so it's a popular place when the sun is shining.

Hello!

Hello!

Sheep Herding Pro

The other day, when I was on my way to a Cow Pasture at Kapp Ekeby that I have shown you before, I arrived at the Nedersta Farm (on the way), just as a sheep herd was being led out to a nearby field. So I had to stop and talk with the owner of the sheep. Her sheep dog posed for a few photos as did the sheep. After this short visit I continued to the pasture, where I was expecting to see and photograph the farm animals, but I was a few days too early and had the place to myself.

You lookin at me?

Sheep Lunch

Sheep at Nedersta Farm in Haninge. I have often seen the sheepdog training here. Today no one was around. A month ago I noticed a group of people here including a photographer and after some googling I found her photos. If you enjoy sheep photos there are few more in my flickr set.

November Rain

The old barn III

I took one of my MP3 Players for a walk in the rain. Because it was Saturday I stopped at Välsta for my weekly shot of the old oak. The rain started to pick up so I decided to turn back home after a visit to the old barn at the Nödesta Farm. Not that many people around, but a few of the sheep greeted me.

The same sheep that I met last week btw.

Sheepherding

Sheepherding at Nedersta

This woman (looks pregnant) usually trains her dog in the late afternoon. Earlier in the summer one of the sheep managed to sneak out of the pasture. Not so today. The building in the background are from an industrial area on the other side of the railway called Håga.

Wool Producer on the run

Wool Producer on the run III

I'm on the run from the shearer!
This sheep is on the run from the Nedersta Farm. It figured, why not pose for the photographer and then go back to eating grass. After this photo op I headed once again for the beach. On my way home I had another animal meeting. I made a short video of a few scenes from today.
